There is no way the woman that bought him from Petco was mentally stable, she never should have been allowed to buy him. I got my snake from a reptile specialist shop who have strict rules on who they sell to so I am always baffled when I see reptiles sold to people who treat them so badly. I'm glad he got saved by you, wish you luck on helping him recover.

Aww por baby. That "set-up" he was is is literally the second worst I've ever seen. The worst was my uromastyx, when I rescued him he was living in a cat carrier, no heat, no UVB, the only food the previous owner had was mealworm beetles (uromastyx are herbivores.) He needed a lot of help and rehabilitation. I have had him over 3 years now and he is soooooo healthy and lives like a king! It's so wonderful and uplifting to see anyone take in an abused or neglected animal and give them a new lease on life. You have got a new subscriber here! I appreciate what you are doing here more than I can possibly express. It's so important to adopt and rescue whenever possible if you have the means. All my reptiles except my mourning geckos are rescues. My blue tongue skink has lost almost all his toes from improper humidity causing stuck sheds and those being left for months. Poor guy even almost lost a leg from stuck shed cutting off circulation. He's also living it up now though and get's the highest quality care.Thank you again for saving this little leopard gecko. He is so handsome and deserving of a comfortable and happy life. Bless your heart! <3

This made my day. He’s looking so much better. I had my leo sprung on me by a family friend, and while they hadn’t particularly neglected him, they absolutely did NOT give me the time to do the proper research, so my buddy had a few of these issues too, just not this bad. If you want to do good by your reptiles you totally can, and you can tell, like seriously tell when a reptile is given the love and support they need.

I don't care about someone's personal situation, if you neglect your pets you deserve every consequence. People need to learn to take responsibility again instead of whining about how hard their life to make themselves the victim.

My leopard gecko only wants to eat giant mealworms and he refuses crickets like they are too fast for him I'm not sure what to feed him my local pet store only carries the mealworms and crickets and to large of hornworms I need some advice
@MamaReptilia13 күн бұрын
Dubia.com is a good website for feeders. Leopard geckos can get addicted to meal worms and they offer little nutrition. They shouldn’t be used as a staple feeder as this can lead to many health issues including vitamin a deficiency. I personally buy my dubias from thedubiadude
@GODZILLA291512 күн бұрын

Awesome you rescued this cute little fella ! I have 3 leopard geckos myself so this broke my heart ! Glad you took him to the vet as well ! I’m commenting as I’m watching this…. I was going to suggest the. Repta Rinse & the repta boost insectivore / carnivore Powdered diet as well. Glad you gave that to him ! I was also gonna suggest trying wax worms…. Usually the leopard geckos love those and won’t turn those down if they won’t eat anything else. Just keep doing what you’re doing and Keep an eye on him, of course ! Just to help with a little bit of info for you if you need it… humidity should be around 35% & basking area should be between 92-100 degrees. & they definitely need uvb 7% is what they need ! Looks like you’ve done a great job with this little guy so far ! I keep monitors & leopard geckos…. So if you have any questions, feel free to reach out ! 😎🦎🤙🏻

I max out at 5% uvb personally with my leos. Too much can be harmful. Especially since this little guy's eye is going to be sensitive for a long time. uvb would probably do more harm than good right now. I would just make sure he is well supplemented with Vitamin D and calcium, and Vitamin A once a month. At least for the time being until his little peeper is all healed up and not light sensitive anymore. :)
