This is the wrong surf spot in Malibu. You want to go to the Zuma Westward beach on a big south or winter swell. Up to 17ft of barrel perfection.
@thedarwinsnatchers6745Ай бұрын
this is zuma beach ...ive grown up in Malibu my whole life and never seen zuma 17 ft ahaha ... ive seen it like 15 ft maybe once in 27 years ... and its definitely isn't perfect barrels when its that big

ur a legend .ummm well like in this vid... its zuma beach but zuma only gets good like 20 percent of the year .... but for the next couple months... watch the offshore winds... and will def get good at zuma....higher tide ... little offshore winds , not to strong and some swell other than that not many lefts

Beach break. Find a point break. A lot more fun. Longer rides

I just bought a 7'0". But, I'm concerned about the fragile construction of LFT. I've heard it dings easily and perhaps easier than a PU board. Almost went with a 6'8" but figured I'll sell the 7'0 later if I can handle a 6'8.
@thedarwinsnatchers6745 Жыл бұрын
If you ask me, it’s harder for them to get dinged. But I honestly just got really unlucky on the session. A really heavy wave just broke right on it. It was like 2 feet deep and really hollow barrels… but yeah, that board is freaking epic . The seven footer is great.

Surfed perfect peaks at Zuma in the 60's. The water was so clear, you had a hard time seeing the face of the wave, because what you saw when you looked, was the sand bottom.
@thedarwinsnatchers6745 Жыл бұрын
so sick... no crowds back then ?
@LeeEisenstein Жыл бұрын
@@thedarwinsnatchers6745 That's right. If memory serves, it was just my buddy and I surfing the entire session. Nother quick story. I, (like other people at the time who were there), surfed Steamer Lane starting in the early 70's, for nearly a decade. Practicing classical guitar on the hood of my truck, watching a flat Steamer Lane on a beautiful, pretty much cloudless day. After around an hour, a one foot set laps up against the cliff. Then a while later, a few two foot waves. As I watched, within a short period of time, the waves went from flat, to six foot plus and pumping. First guy out in the water that day. Not much crowds generally in Santa Cruz then, as it was just a small, California beach town with a small population. Great thing about surfing, is that everybody''s got great stories.
@mylestate5 ай бұрын
My friends & I used to surf the north end by Broad Beach & there was rarely anyone ever there & we'd catch so many fast little waves. On big days it breaks so steep that everywhere else you surf feels 'slow' when Zuma is your home break lol.
