As an old, truck owner : You guys, would get better fuel mileage, IF you laid off, on being a ' leadfoot '. After upshifting, feed the engine, as it pulls - NO need to ' tromp ' on the padal. ANY sign, of black smoke, outta yer stacks, means WASTED fuel. ( ONLY IF THE ENGINE, IS UP TO TEMPERATURE ! ...attempt, to have it, near 200 +....the higher, the better the fuel is BURNT ! ) These engines, only produce, power slower than gas ones ; B U T alot more TORQUE ! No need for a ' leadfoot '. Used to be a guy, nick - named that.

..plus, the engine, will last longer, as will all drive - line components. I've never , ever changed any U joints, on my Mack, Kenworth or Freightliners.....

@@duffman2285 we own the tile plow, so for us its more cost effective to use it vs the excavator. That and using the excavator in sand like we were would take quite a bit of time to dig that extra 4.5 feet deep.

Man, you guys went DEEP! Nice drone footage and enjoyed the video. Not a farmer, just a good ol' country boy who enjoys the farming videos. Trying to grow my channel but it's just me doing the work, videoing it and trying to edit. I do this all on the side after working a full time and part time job.

Man, I miss my cat with straight pipes. The company got me a fancy new Pete 389 with a X15. They've done some "work" on it so the thing pulls decent now but you can barely hear it at an idle.

@@binkerz it’s my IPhone on a RAM suction cup mount, and I’ve got an external microphone to try and muffle the wind noise. Does a decent job IMO but isn’t perfect either.

I've known and been friends with a old school driver for years now, owner of a 91' Pete 379 short hood, still running a 3406C CAT engine, 13 speed transmission, 3.55 diff's. His truck runs just as clean as this one, but he keeps on top of the maintenance and swears the truck has 3 million plus miles on her, nothing 100% original mind you, but still going. I named the truck The Millinium Falcon, which I think is appropriate 🙂👍

It's crazy to think Ive sat here and watched this whole video from start to finish mainly because it reminds me so much of Kansas now idk what state ur in but when i seen the caseys gas station i got flooded with childhood memories and plus all the beautiful scenery god i miss it so much now im stuck out here in North Carolina and it's depressing because im hella homesick but i love the video man truck sounds healthy

@@507farmer7 yessir i gotta say i agree with everyone else here in the comments impressive driving skills you knew when to shift at the right rpm and didn't bang shift it or rev it up really high when using the jake im very impressed my dad was a over the road trucker for over 30+ years the man can drive a truck pretty good but you sir just blew him out the water

I'm slow, and did some non farmer/ non economic math but based on peak season sale price of 5 dollars per bushel that equals about 7500 to 8000 dollars a load as a rough estimate. not bad at all
