Question, just wondering, have you ever sailed on celebrity reflections would like to know your point of view on that ship

I'm more for the medium size ships of 3500 passengers The problem is that the over crowded ports are going to get worse.

I never thought I would call the Horizon a small ship. But that size to me is perfect. While the Excel class has tons of offerings for dining and activities, I found it just so LOUD ... with crowds everywhere. Fun, sure. Just not peaceful. And for those thinking, well, this is Carnival ... the ships of the past always had places to go that were quiet.

I like carnival but I really am not a fan of these larger ships. They should have gone small again 😢

I haven’t tried the newer excel class ships yet. I think I am interested in smaller class ships. We don’t sail with young kids anymore or have a ton of desire for specialty dining experiences anymore. Although I do love great food. I’m afraid a lot of the new ship amenities like family areas, water slides, roller coasters aren’t for us anymore. Older classic style cruising may be on the way out for the mainstream lines. However, we can’t afford a Cunard or other cruise luxury line for every cruise. Where does it leave us? Like I said I haven’t tried a giant ship, maybe I should. Surprise me Carnival or Royal! lol

Thank you for taking the time to put this video together! We might be sailing on the Ruby next year and this gave us a nice look into the whole ship.

I have not been on any of the new xl class ships and probably never will. My wife and I have come to really enjoy the smaller ships. Better experience in personal service and ease of getting around without endless lines.

I was also wondering about what ports will be available to accommodate these ships. The number of popular ports keeps shrinking due to many factors such as civil unrest, wars, environmental issues and over-tourism. Is Carnival planning on retiring some of the current ships by then? Is Carnival planning on acquiring more private islands? Are the new ships supposed to be significantly cleaner (in terms of pollution)? That might be one way to keep popular ports from restricting them.

Have the beards at Carnival been ignoring the trends of ports not wanting more passengers ? Since 2019 at least 3 US ports have been trying to limit passenger numbers and 3 European ports have started trying to steer away from them.

I booked my first cruise out of Galveston next year. Any suggestions for transportation and hotel recommendations? Thank you
@lane8358Сағат бұрын
I’ve cruised out of Galveston many times. Any type of transportation to the port from either airport in Houston is really expensive. I’ve done the math multiple times and it’s always the same. I can rent a car and park it at the port for a weeklong cruise and it will still be about the same price. I am a Hilton brands elite and will say that there are a few hotels you can stay and park for free or heavily reduced parking and just Uber/Lyft/Taxi/ hotel shuttle to the port and save some money.

Yes, all cruise lines should boycott Barcelona for at least a year. See if they really don't want us there. We have been on enough of cruises where we don't need to go there even though we are going there next year. we'll just be happy doing circles out in the middle of the ocean and just wave to these countries.

The port fees are extremely useful to these cities and the governments know it. They are trying to placate the activists that are making a problem for everyone, but the real culprit here is the lack of housing due to Airbnb. I understand the frustration when you are looking to rent an apartment, see a new building go up and find out that the entire thing is rented out as Airbnb. The worst is that a real hotel pays extra taxes, has better security (both criminal and fire) and is better designed for short term stays and has better protections for tourists than an Airbnb so that, in the end, the only winners here are the owners of the building.

On our last cruise with Royal Caribbean, we had booked what was stated on their own site as an “accessible room “, but when I started checking on the room size, it was not going to work for my scooter! I wouldn’t have even been able to get from the entrance door to the room to the balcony because of the space the bed took up next to the wall . We had to pay extra to rebook to get a larger room near these same rooms that were “accessible”, and I noticed after the cruise started that mobility scooters were parked outside the rooms of those like the one that we had previously booked. So that can be a reason why scooters are outside the rooms in the halls ! because it is false advertising.

I feel cruise lines should boycott visiting Barcelona for 6 months and see how much this affects their tourism dollars
@julieb7882Күн бұрын
The loss of cruise euros will affect the tourist far less than the loss of thousands of air b&b type rental units. People spend more in days versus hours. The air b&b market has caused a problem with people having affordable housing.

My husband and I are both totally blind and we travelled on our first cruise with NCL in April of this year. They were phenomenal and nothing was too much trouble. They were the only cruise liner that would let us travel independently without sighted assistance. Even if Pete Ando had allowed us to go, I never would considering the way they treat their staff. It's sudden and disappoints me to see comments that we should not be travelling without assistance from someone with site. I can guarantee you this much that if all the lights went out on a cruise ship, you lot would be asking us for help.

They always say its America's cruise line.
@zekeonstormpeak4186Күн бұрын
Sounds crazy, seems the tour operator would have known who was on the tour bus. NCL should have been able to know if they were on a NCL tour. Leaving them behind was a complete travesty. They should be reimbursed for all of their expenses, including a full refund if the cruise.
@mershawnfoley69422 күн бұрын
So many questions. Yes NCL should be responsible for getting to the next port, or SEA where I assume the cruise ended..... BUT. If x out of z passports were available, why didn't x out of z people leave? Minor child? Ok parent stays behind, everyone else goes and parent and minor child stay and meet the remainder of the family in SEA? Is it crappy? Yep but you deal with what life throws you and you let NCL pay the piper without the histrionics.

I have cruised without a scooter when I didn’t need it and now I have to bring a scooter because I have chronic feet pain in my feet for eight years. I do know when I’ve tried to get on elevators. It has happened both ways with people rushing ahead, even though I’m there or with people being courteous and holding the door and letting me get on each time I feel like I have to say sorry I don’t know why I am sorry because it is something I must do to get around the hardest part of cruising now is in places like Windjammer where it’s very crowded or even the main dining room where sometimes your scooter does have to be parked, and you have to walk the rest of the waythere’s all kinds of reasons that people may need a scooter for those who complain they should be thankful they don’t have to use one

Vapers and smokers have alternatives to cruising, just like people that have kids they can't handle.. Quit complaining about things and go with the flow or spend your hard earned vacation dollars where you can enjoy yourself instead of leaving no stone unturned as you look for things to complain about. Personally, if I designed cruise ships, I would make a couple of decks adults only cabins with the two bed, king bed option with no pullman's, and only allow couples or singles over 21 to book those rooms.. That might put a stop to teenagers thinking it's funny to go down the passageways banging on doors and yelling at night. I think a lot of people would even pay a little more for the security that they wouldn't get stuck next door to some screaming kids, I know I would.

Even if Regency was less money to sail on, I wouldn't be interested. I'm pampered enough on the big cruise lines, and I like more places to go to on the ships. But to each their own.

I’m stoked for more lines coming to Galveston. Being a fluffy cruise from Oklahoma, I only drive to cruise ports so Galveston is our home port and the only port we’ve been to. I’m hoping with the more lines we have here the more pressure it will put on Virgin, Celebrity, and others. We’ve currently got RCCL, Carnival, NCL, Princess, Disney, Regent, and MSC is coming next year!

Asked my banker (aka my wife) if that ultra luxury suite life was in the cards for 2026…. Umm nope not a chance😢. 😅but that’s great news either way. Gets a higher class of ship to Galveston and that’ll attract even more cruise ships and more options for all of us.

That welcome aboard beverage is more restrictive than getting it on your last Sea Day. They should just put a credit on your account that shows complimentary beverage and you just swipe it when you get your drink. Embarkation day is a rush and many would feel rushed to get that drink causing back ups at the bars. In my opinion.

I agree. Royal loads vouchers onto your seapass so you just have to tell bartender you are using a diamond voucher; could work the same for Carnival.

@garybelew78133 күн бұрын
So many people think that the rules don't or shouldn't apply to them in the me, me, me society we live in today. I quit smoking over 25 years ago and never looked back, it's a crutch I never have missed.. When I get anywhere around smoke, I am even clearer that I made the right choice.
