You forgot to talk about loading the wrist vs. loading the wrist too late and how you don’t want your hand directly over the ball because your wrist will be loaded way too late
@casiellobasketballАй бұрын
Yes, the earlier you get the wrist loaded the better. It’s a common mistake among many young shooters we see it a lot in our trainings.

sorry but the shooting pocket cannot be the same for all
@casiellobasketball4 ай бұрын
Yes, that is why I say repeatedly that it’s not one size fits all. This is just how I teach shooting. My players have had unbelievable results following these progressions so that’s what I go with.

What are your thoughts on putting thë tips of your fingers on thë ribs of thë ball
@casiellobasketball4 ай бұрын
Yes it is proven to help with grip and spin rate on rotation. I always say that in game you do not always have time to set your grip with the seams so be able to shoot without them as well. Practice both with seams and without.

I mean yeah but it was kinda basic and not sure it’d be all that effective at that speed
@casiellobasketball5 ай бұрын
Yeah no complex footwork here and not at game speed. Simple works many times best! Putting your back to the defender gives them a different look and in many cases relaxes them. That's when you stick them in mud and then get them on your hip. Used it 1000 times in my career with success!

What should we do for the third one if our coach says no floaters
@casiellobasketball5 ай бұрын
I tell our players - always listen to what your coach says, it’s what gets/keeps you on the court. Still practice and master floaters on your own though. You will need it one day! You can always come to a jump stop and have multiple options - up & under, shoot a jump shot (w/ quick release), etc. 🙌
