I just noticed a couple things I didn't the first few times I saw this film: without giving spoilers (at least to any great degree) interesting how Brad's character behind that wavy glass harks forward, as it were, to a scene later in the film. I just now caught, for the first time, that he says that line about there's a time to reap and there's a time to so - reap, being a key word, there. Fascinating. Definitely one of the greatest films of all time!!!

I couldn't live in USA for it seems really difficult for people to say important things without being always politically correct. And to make compliments to a potential future boy or girlfriend seems to be the obstacle course!!! One can see it in most films.

See, What happened was Bill Parish had a heart attack and died, that easy. Then he gives advise to his daughter on the helicopter which being a powerful man kills Joe Black. Bill Parish made that conversation happen then that guy had to die because that’s all there was left for him. Then, Joe Black becomes his spirit and he is telling Bill Parish what to do. I hate our religion. It does that. It’s a curse and I’m serious.
