This is the most convoluted piece of gear I ever owned. Got two separate camera adapters, both certified, this thing doesn’t send audio out. Sampling is so tedious on this too. Love/hate relationship with this thing.

So dope can’t wait to get into it one day

Nice work! I'm so shit at sticker bombing things lol i make too many big gaps and then end up having to overlap on top of all the interesting parts.

At first i thought the addition of a sampler was an interesting but weird choice to plinky as an instrument. But i actually love this implementation of a sampler and it's completely unique compared to my other gear. Being able to run your finger over the tape as a playhead is 🙌💯. Especially with vocal samples, where you can kind of make it sing how you want. It's much more fluid than chopping, stretching, etc. where the sample is still quite static in a way, even when modulated.

Awesome video! I would have loved to hear what the raw signal sounds like so I can A/B with your microphone recordings. It sounds good, but I can't tell what it's actually "adding" to the raw signal. Is it possible you could do a video where you compare the raw signal to the microphone recordings?

how do you actually turn it on?

You can set the module to trigger out, and then connect that to a CV/expression input on a guitar pedal. Then you can control that pedal knob with CV, doing this with a Chase bliss pedal will give some really cool results. You have too put the jump step component to 0 on each step you want to send a trigger, you can use any track you want. Setting up a trigger sequence and then changing the step length, or bar length will affect how long the trigger pulse is, changing the speed of the trigger pulse. It also gets affected by volume, so if change that track to MIDI your expression will change. Combine with the line I/O and the trigg in say from a drum machine or another synth, you can then jump steps on any of the 8 audio tracks, + the I/O track. Then it becomes a really powerful expression tool!

At this point, saying it looks like a calculator is stating the obvious.

My guess (and maybe hope?) is the Arcade and robot combined into one. Just these two and maybe some additional sounds would be great. Or perhaps the ability to create new 8 bit sounds, that would be great! I also like to see Factory and sub combined into one unit. I think the sound of Factory is so great and under appreciated.

Hello, Any idea how to sync RD9 and opz? I connect the sync out on the rd 9 and plug it into the midi in on the opz ( line module) then enable clock in on the midi set up ( opz app) the led is synced to the beat but the opz is not synced to the beat. how do i make it play whenever i press play on the RD9? any idea thanks!!!
