This was very moving to watch as I remember 20 years ago thinking about ordering David's lessons but some of life's troubles overtook me so never got around to it. I only learnt of his passing this year and really admire his courage and faith to walk tall when the road becomes rocky. Still inspiring people from heaven even now. RIP David ...

It's 2024, and it's with a heavy heart that I've only just learned of David's passing today. Today, on a whim, I found myself thinking of him and typed his name into the search bar, hoping to find any new content he might have shared. David was an unparalleled inspiration to me. Back in college, I would spend countless hours absorbed in his KZbin videos, completely mesmerized by his unique ability to teach and clearly convey his lessons. He had a remarkable gift for making music approachable for beginners and professionals. I'm holding onto his courses, hoping to share them with my young children someday, so they too can experience the magic of his teachings. Thank you, David, for the indelible mark you've left on our hearts and minds.

Somewhere sometime some of us were once true believers and we strayed away from the fold of righteousness and safely because out on the other side the grass looked greener but that is how the world makes it seem the world of sin and immorality and although you are out there in all those wrong places doing what you know inside of you us not right and inside you you are just going along to fit in and all the while God is speaking inside of you telling you I have so much more for I love you,I have already prepared for you everything beyond what you could ever think or ask the Broadway may look good but destruction is at the end of that road the straight and narrow road lead to life eternal and when you are on the narrow path you have to be careful how you go ,I know what I am talking about and I want anyone that may be reading this to know Jesus is watching and waiting in the shadows for you he understands what you are going through and he watching every day for your return and is arms is waiting to embrace you it doesn't matter how you look or how far you have gone or what you have done JESUS LOVES YOU HE HAS ALREADY PROVEN IT BY DYING FOR ALL THE WHOLE WORLD SIN.

I still always think of him when I play the piano, and always will. I hope his family is well, and knows that they are in the thoughts and prayers of many many people around the globe, even though we don’t even know them. I returned here because the song came back to me earlier this morning. I found myself humming the tune; and wondered if it were ever written down in an easy-to-play arrangement for piano/keyboard. I found one online, in the key of G; but the price seemed quite high (for just the one song); plus it was encumbered with a lot of restrictive DRM. 🤔 So I came here to just listen to it. Although the melody and background instrumentation isn't quite the way I recalled/heard it (in my "mind's ear"), I think I can figure this one out on my own... It's a song that lends itself well to improvisation. 🎤🎶🎹😎

So this explains a lot about David Sprunger to me. I experienced David through his wonderful piano course, and the video clips related to that course here on KZbin . What always struck me about David through the piano course were two things, 1. What an amazing gifted piano keyboard player, and teacher, and 2. What a nice man and decent human being he was. I was shocked when I saw the video he made where he and Jenny were letting us know about his health situation What a beautiful person... He lives on I’m sure in many ways through all of the lives I know that he touched.... and he lives on for me personally every time I practice his piano course and hear his voice, see his face, and listen to his incredible ability and instruction We are all blessed to have him in our lives

Please allow me to politely say, There is not a singer more talented with performing, playing, connecting to those spiritually inclined. This is a man of God and regardless of what he performs, he communicates the gospel of love, peace, and the Spiritual gift of Reconciliation. I was saved because of a song the Holy Spirit sang through Michael W. Smith. This song is the gospel!!! Romans 1:16-17
@heyfromdave51083 жыл бұрын
I think you're sorely mistaken regarding Smith. You obviously have no discernment. The faith the bible talks about is the faith of Jesus Christ, imputed-given to us, we have no faith, no NOTHING of ourselves, it's all God. This 'song' is confusing, and the bible says God is not of confusion but of peace. You can never 'fall away' from Jesus, because it is he and he alone who holds you firmly, unshakable. If this song is saying you can lose salvation, well, that's another lie. in Hebrews Jesus says, I will never leave thee nor forsake thee. Once you're saved, and all of that is of God, and God alone, you're God's for ever, there's nothing you or any force or anything that can ever separate you from God. - Romans 8:38, 39 -cambridge king james bible-the ONLY divinely preserved Word of God for english, see: avpublications.com And that part in scripture where it talks about 'then some of his/Jesus' disciples left him', those people were never Jesus' chosen disciples, they were never his, and Jesus said to his disciples, 'will ye also leave me?' to which one of the disciples replied, 'To where will we go, Lord? You have the words of eternal life'. All those who are truly Christ's were chosen by God the Father before the foundation of the world to be saved by Jesus, -Ephesians chapter 1. Election and Predestination are biblical. Jesus' real sheep know his voice, and follow only him, and will not follow a stranger, scripture says. They can never be lost, Jesus said himself of all the Father gives him, he loses none. So scores of people twist scripture, are deceived, take out of context scripture, so this 'song' leaves an unclear message. The truth is that once you're saved, you're saved for ever, regardless of sin, what state you're in, you're God's for ever, and nothing can ever change that. It's God who saves you and God who keeps you, and your very faith itself is not your own, it's from God. 'Works salvation', striving, working, etc. anything you 'do', is/are all lies. God does it all.

@@heyfromdave5108 Right on brother. Romans 11. I believe your argument is valid; however, the song is about pre-transformation. Michael W. Smith is a Fufil fledged Sovereign Grace Believer. Listen to the song Sovereign. I believe the Election of Grace.
@heyfromdave51083 жыл бұрын
@@lancenashrpcga8140 I may listen to the song, if the Lord wills, but a song doesn't make a person this or that, see what they say, what comes out of their mouth - I have never seen any personal statement of faith from Smith, he hardly if ever even quotes scriptures, and when he does, it's in an arrogant way-he's not a humble person, he's a jackass. People call him 'smitty', it's all a 'Jesus Clique' of unsaved people, I call him 'Shitty', there's so much wrong there with him. Can God use him? sure, God uses turds, he uses anything and everything for his Will, plan and purposes, God creates evil, God uses evil, God is not evil, but he uses and controls evil, he controls Satan, everyone and everything answers to God and is accountable to him. Is Smith born again in Jesus? I doubt it, I wish I could give him the test given in the bible to see if someone is saved or not, I suppose I could pray and ask the Father through Jesus if smith is saved or not, born again in Jesus. You talk about a 'song' 'Sovereign', well, it just like the words of God in the bible, they are holy Words, the very words of God, God-breathed by the Holy Ghost, so they are alive, but to those not born again in Jesus, they're just words on a page. They have no power unless God gives them power.

@lancenashrpcga81403 жыл бұрын
@@heyfromdave5108 If you believe in the election of grace Romans 11:5 then you know when our transformation began, Ephesians 1:3-4 before the foundations of the world. You only responded to the gospel of grace through faith in Jesus Christ because you were in him before time began. You responded to the gospel because it was God’s will, Ephesians 1:11, James 1:18, John 1:13. Our will does not transform us, It’s God’s grace and Will. When were you transformed? If you say upon your salvation or some would say confession, How is that working for you? Do you live the transformed life? Positional We already live this life, and I believe you, my dear brother do to. In practice, we fall short. But John 17:2 we were already elected and therefore we heard as sheep our Shepherd. Romans 6:1-4 we died with Christ and rose again in Christ. I am an infralapsarian.

Christianity in its purest form is about a relationship, not a religion. God actually wants a real, honest to goodness relationship with you. That separates us from all the other religions. No other religion offers the intimacy of Christianity. Jesus said " I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you."

I knew David years ago at COS. We played together quite a bit. I played sax with him. I knew him when he and his wife were still just dating. I haven't seen or talked with him for a very long time but knew him to be a really great guy and a man who genuinely loved God! I'm embarrassed to say I just found out about his passing and am very saddened. Great video made me cry. Even though its been a few years now I hope and pray his beautiful family have found peace with Jesus. If we've received Jesus, we'll all get to be in heaven. Maybe I'll get to play along side him again for the glory our Lord. Lance
