Went back to the West coast about a year ago to visit old friends and family. The west coast has lost the freedom that it was.

Used to spend weeks over there in the late eighties and nineties. Not another boat in sight. Surfing the nw reefs and trial rock. Freeky, hollow waves and clear water that made it look like there was nothing between you and the reef. Eating big crays, bar cheeks and blue bone. Crawling around the old wreckage left behind by the bomb blast was always a hoot. Last there in 2003, on a commercial fishing run/ holiday out of coral bay.
