I love this scene so much, especially Zeruel's face of abject horror as Unit 01 bears down on it. Sure, this isn't the first time we've seen an angel learn what it's like to be weaker than its opponent... But I bet this IS the first time an angel learns what it means to be prey

It's interesting to see what parts changed completely, and what parts were slightly altered between this and the reboot movies. I give props to the reboot movies (at least from the clips I've seen) for being able to provide more action and some stellar animation while still providing that Unsettling Evangelion feel. On a related note; watching unit 1 go on all fours then proceed to glance to its sides (as if it's a predator or scavenger securing its meal from potential competiotion) is unsettling, if I saw that IRL I'd shit my pants.
