Bleed your fish to get rid of the fishy taste. As soon as you catch them cut the gills.

Late comment. But I just wanted to share some knowledge. (I just started fly fishing recently too) a few months ago an outfitter told me for every foot of water you want a x3 lead from the fly to the indicator. So if you are in 2 foot of water you want a 6 foot fly to indicator gap. Once I started doing that the fish seemed to be a lot more interested. Thought I would share!! Love your videos man I hope you see this.🤙🏻

I just sight fished a 3 foot bowfin today. He peeled drag and went under the bridge I was on. I would’ve had him in except the bank was immediately steep out the water with weeds blocking my view. I don’t know if I’ll see him again but It wouldn’t the biggest fish of my life.

Which Tony's is that one you are using to season that fish? You are kind of shaking it and I can't read it.

You need to soak those bluegill in apple cider vinegar, you won't have any fishy taste anymore, my grandma taught me that.

Hey man! Love your adventures. When seeing risers like you did here you could consider trying a dry dropper rig, where your dry fly doubles down as an indicator and fly. Add a wet fly or nymph on the bottom and you'll double your chances. Keep doing what you're doing!

Do your self a favor and don't fillet bluegill. Clean off the dorsal and pectoral fins. We scaled, gutted and trimmed off the heads when I was kid. I'd be tempted to leave the heads on these these days to see if bluegill have any of the much lauded cheek meat. My mother fried them in cornmeal, salt and pepper. The meat near the bones is very flavorful so we just gnawed our way around those bluegill bones. No meat wasted. My dad liked the fried tails.

You have a really smelly air of fake acting about you. Much stinkier than the air you claimed to be breathing. I see through bullsh1t suuuuper quick. Done a LOT of traveling via backpack for many years across 49 states and 11 countries. I've had people spout every type of bullsh1t at me and I'm not convinced you didn't catch these fish and leave them to "find" later for sensationalism. I see riiiight through you.
