So lucky to have seen this show at Lenox just a marathon of incredible jams on a hot summer day Hot Tuna was simply one incredible band and still at it 50 years on just incredible. Lenox was such a lovely site back in the 70's on late afternoons into the evening just some tremendous shows!!!

I was at this show. It was HORDE. Allman Bros. were played last/headlined. I hung out at the beach all day swimming. Every once in a while I’d hear music like Big Head Todd waifing through the breeze. I missed all the other acts and only saw The Bros. They were awesome as usual!

À surprisingly tepid audience response to "For What It's Worth" a song that charted top 10 just 3 months earlier. Like the band for many their greatness was only apriciated long after they were gone.

This performance, minus A Child's Claim to Fame, was broadcast on a one-time-only radio documentary about the Monterey Pop Festival about 30-40 years ago. I taped it and later transferred it to a CD. The sound quality on my copy of it is much better, clearer than this version. It's one of my favorite recordings ever.

I was there about the vantage of the photo. Some guy had a voodoo doll of Jerry on a stick waving it around in front of Garcia. Great sound! Merle Saunders was awesome. The rain started during Bob Weir’s show. Poured buckets. I got backstage nobody hassled me

This should have been on the Buffalo Springfield box set. Neil nixed it because he blew off the gig. But a gutsy performance nonetheless.

Thank you so much for taping and posting this show. I was there and what an incredible show it was. I haven't gone a day without listening to some Shakti ever since Zakir's recent passing 😢 I had tix to see him play in NY and got the news from the box office the following morning of his transition. Not the best news to wake up to. I'm so thankful I got to see him one more time with Shakti last year at the Capitol theater for the 50th anniversary. May his light shine bright for all eternity ✨️

This is without Neil Young and Bruce Palmer and with David Crosby. Barely the real thing

A part of my youth is burned into the sound of this band. It always takes me back to those years. I see pictures of them at the pop festival like I do here. I grew up a couple blocks from the venue when it went down but me and my brother weren't allowed to go inside. It always strikes me - the absence of young. After all these years and looking back, his reasons for skipping, seem all the more misplaced. Sure, he was always working to go his own way, But I always wonder if in the back of his mind, he wonders, "what if",.

I love the Springfield, but IMHO, that's a Totally unspirited performance of "Rock and Roll Woman".

Shambolic indeed. Not having Neil Young on hand was clearly a problem. David Crosby was probably not in position to help much, but it also sounded like than handn't played the song in month's, or were stoned out of their heads, or both.

What comes across to me ore than anything is what a great drummer Spenser was. He can play anything.

Doesn't seem like this is all from the same performance in 1967 ?? Good Shepherd was released on their Volunteers album in 1969 although it was one of Jorma's earliest songs from even before he joined JA. I'll give you that one although I don't know of JA ever performing it before Volunteers. The same is also true of Volunteers of America, released on Volunteers in 1969. I don't think JA had this song as part of their set much before their release in 1969 as opposed to a performance in 1967??

That version of rock n roll woman is doing wonders for my bad back. It’s made me squirm so much I think it’s put itself right. Doug Hastings lead guitar is truly awful. He never did understand this group and I’m shocked Stills Furay and the others didn’t kick him out before Monterey. They must’ve known instantly that he would never fit.
