Nope standard german is not the norm in Northern Germany. Only people in Hannover Claim that. Plattdeutsch, Vorpommern, Brandenburgisch, Berlinerisch, Sächsisch, Thüringisch, Rheinländisch, Pfälzerisch, Mansfelder Dialekt and many more are spoke. But unlike Bayern and Baden-Württemberg who openly use their dialect most people in Norther Germany only speak their dialact at home. (And all people from Hannover constantly pretend everywhere that everyone is constantly using Hochdeutsch) 😅😅

my last name is houghton but thats from my german spermdoner(hes not my dad anymore) but i use a different last name now and i always get called a “perfect” german bc im a tall blonde with blue eyes and im the obly blonde in my family bc of my spermdoner(birthdad) and im sad that ive never seen him(or remember seeing him) but yea
