The book I mentioned, by author, expert, and lecturer, Grant R Jeffrey, is entitled: Armageddon: Appointment With Destiny, published in 1988, by Frontier Research Publications, Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It is an intriguing and well-written book, filled with research and examples, based in mathematics, and facts, that demonstrate the supremacy of God, the veracity of scripture, and the accuracy of God's prophecies. In my brief conversation with Dr. Jeffrey, back in 1999, he stated that the sensational nature of the title of this book- one of many he wrote prior to his passing- was more a marketing effort than he would have preferred. HIs was more an academic offering, and far less sensational; definitely worth reading.

Over the course of centuries, as more and more gentiles flooded into the Church, and fewer and fewer Jews were added, the direction of the theology, and therefore, the direction of the church, itself, became more Pagan, and less Judaic. The importance of the Commandments was diminished, and the ideology of Grace over Law began to proliferate. Contact with Jewish root theology lessended, and the Papacy dominated and centralized church thinking. Now, two thousand years after the Jewish Messiah arrived, to deliver the message of salvation to the Jewish descendents of Abraham- the one with whom the covenant was made- The Way has very little to do with what The Messiah taught. The Observant Rabbi, Yeshua, barely recognizable, now, through changes and traditions, would not be known, or considered, by His Jewish family, should they encounter Him in a Christian setting. The Reformation of the Catholic Church was just that- a reform-ation of the Catholic Church. Nothing new took place; nothing substantially changed. Protestant churches adopted theology apart from the Pope, but the methodolgy of the established Roman Church remains to this day. Hence, my asertion that The Reformation did not go far enough. Yeshua, Messiah, Observant Jewish Rabbi, who kept the Law and the Commandments, and all of the ordinances; living a blameless and perfect life, did not renounce Judaism, Torah, Tanach, or custom. He lived up to them all, fulfilled their promise and demands, and having done so, established the new custom of Grace, having completely fulfilled all the Law, including the penalty for sin, once, for all time. Having died as a substitute for everyone else's sins, He returned to Life, having no reason to die Himself, therefore, making all things new again. The Law is satisfied. The wages of sin have been paid. The Law does not cease, as those who reject Grace, will be judged under that Law. But for those who have rejected their death under the Law, in favor of the substitutionary death on the cross by the One Man capable of restoring Order, His sacrificial blood has bought their entrance into eternal life, in the presence of The Most High. For those who reject that grace- what more can be done for them? They will perish, and be judged under the Law that convicts them. Repent! Repent!!! Turn from the damnation of sin and sefl-sufficiency! Embrace the Gift given you, freely- the eternal life offered you- bought and paid for by Messiah, with His own body and blood, having taken Your place on the cross, so that you would have Life and Life more abundantly, in Christ, Jesus.

Correction and Amplification: The Jubilee is every 50 years, not every 75 years- not sure where I got that 75 year thing from. My apologies for the misstatement in the video. The Jubilee comes at the end of seven cycles of shmita (sabbatical years), and is the year during which time slaves would be set free (emancipated), debts would be forgiven, and the land would enjoy a sabbath- be allowed to rest- to lay fallow. Shmita is a seven year cycle; every seven years, the Israelites are told to care for the poor among them. Hebrew servants are to be released and provided with gifts during the seventh year; first-born males of herds and flocks are surrendered to The Lord. After seven cycles (49 years), comes The Jubilee Year (50th year), in which what was described above was to be done. Jesus declared that the Jubilee was taking place with His arrival and the establishment of His Kingdom (Isaiah 61:1), but stopped short of declaring that it was the Day of God's Vengeance (Isaiah 61:2). That day comes later, upon His physical return to establish His earthly throne.
