CalTrash loves their old concrete pavements, no roadway lighting, and absolutely horrible signage!

Looks like some slowdown at the 10 interchange, but overall it didn't seem like traffic was too bad for you.

How long did it actually take you to get there?

Like Siberia, except for the temperature. Actually, I hiked with a friend to some nearby sand dunes there in the middle of summer 1968. We took a gallon of ice water, and when we reached the dunes, we realized that they were much farther away than we had judged, and that we had been walking with a very strong tailwind. So when we turned around to go back to the car, we were out of water, and were walking into a strong headwind that felt like it was coming from a furnace. We were nearly out of our minds by the time we reached the car, and we were lucky to have returned safely. I don't recommend it.

We were just there August 2022. 5 people left 1 home, a church, and the municipal building. We drove as many streets as we could. You really have to imagine there was a town here. If you look carefully, you will finds some remnants of the town. A piece of sidewalk, stone walls, some fence here and there. The rest is imagination. Graffiti Highway is completely covered. And we were warned to stay away. If you got caught on the highway you will be fined 200-250.00. We were told the fire is gone from the town and moving towards Mt Carmel.

It looks like many could have stayed in their homes making my heart ache and break for those that called CENTRALIA their HOME. I've only ever had a childhood home , where I went to school, BUT as a British Royal Princess , it couldn't be my home. In fact , since moving out of that home - I've never really had a place to call home and am currently HOMELESS waiting to be housed with my husband , due to a fraudulent ASBO placed on paper, BUT not on police record's, AS was unproven hearsay. The judge is a fraud that earned money by trafficking children and stealing them away from loving parent's , because like us were the victim's made to look like the perpetrators ,while the real perpetrators got away with it and threatening other people to make them homeless, if they didn't get what they wanted.

I feel other explorers make Centralia seem much more remote and derelict than it actually is, at least from what this video shows

Centralia is about a half mile from here in Ashland where I live. (as the crow flies and down the old road) our homes here in Ashland are covered in ..you guessed it. Ash. Black soot all over everything, in your lungs as well. Locals sat it's just dust from coal trucks passing by. Please it's everywhere. On the buildings 1/2 mile back in the parks. Everywhere.

ANDY OSTROWSKI HAS REVEALED THE "BURNING" AS A PLANNED DISRUPTION, TO ALLOW LAND-GRAB. THE WHOLE THING IS A MEDIA-HYPED TRICK. CENTRALIA IS WORLD'S LARGEST KNOWN ANTHRACITE COAL DEPOSIT. THINK ABOUT THAT -- THE PEOPLE, INDIVIDUAL LAND OWNERS, HAD TO GO. IN ANOTHER GENERATION OR THREE, THE NEW LAND/MINERAL "OWNERS" (THE GRABSTERS) WILL REAP THE PROFITS. LOOK AT WHAT THEY DID TO ANDY OSTROWSKI. = =

I've passed through Centralia close to 100 times in the last 30 years and it's interesting how little smoke and steam are coming out of the ground now. 15 years ago if you went there on a cold day in February there would be steam everywhere and the ground in many places was warm enough that snow couldn't accumulate. I'm curious if the fire is going deeper or shrinking.
