You don't normally bring all of it with you. You have a packing list and you can bring everything on that or not. As long as you have some uniforms helmet and iotv you'll be fine.

Let’s say I’m in the army for about 5 months but I don’t get deployed to a combat environment can I request to be deployed in a combat environment

You won't deploy within 5 months, you're bct training is about 3 months and then your mos school is however long it is for that specific job. But your time in service starts the moment you swear in the second time. However you could finish your bct and mos schooling and then get stationed somewhere and deploy right away like within 5 months or so, or you could go to a duty station and never deploy. It depends what division and where you go mostly

You have a clothing record of what has to be turned in when you leave a duty station or get out the army. But normally anything that touches your skin you'll be able to keep so most of your combat shirts and ocp tops you're aloud to keep

Both branches are great, just depends on what you're looking for the marine Corps is smaller and a bit more about brotherhood. But if you wanna have opportunities to go more places. The army might be the better choice

he is in a support mos but eveyone gets the basic gear, which is pretty much everything he is showing.. other mos's will get something different or more depending on your job

No when you're a fueler you usually get your A2's and free kit system when you deploy however you can get a memorandum for that stuff
