Looks good mate. Kington is on my list to play, hopefully this year now I’m partially retired. I streamed some garage golfing yesterday but on Facebook. I might try YT too. As a designer on PGA2K23 I know it’s difficult to create courses. This looks great. 👍

Hi, I just saw your video now. I just got a second hand Mevo+ with Pro Package. My distances from device to ball and then ball to screen are all as recommended by Flightscope (8ft and 12ft). I get great results on full shots using RCT ball but any chip shot with a ball speed under 20mph doesn't register. Do you have any idea why that might be the case? I haven't tried putting with it but heard it's better not to use the RCT ball when putting. Is it the same with short chips? Should I just use a regular ball? Any advice would be appreciated. Cheers!

Yep had it 3 years, Awesome on every other shot bar putting and lobs to 5 yards, on GSPro it's hard on the SGT tour getting out of bunkers is quite hard but you get use to it if playing with mates not on tour. The best thing to do is if it's a flat surface from Mevo to screen then putt from 3 feet in front of the mevo and chip from 5 feet in front of the mevo then it should work perfectly. you will get a few no reads and miss reads, that's just part of an indoor Radar LM. You will have loads of fun with this LM.

@@golffe Thanks for the response. I actually have an optical launch monitor also that picks up nearly every shot and has great putting also so I use that for simulation golf play on GSPro. I was lucky enough to get the Mevo+ with Pro Package for around $500 so I think I will use it while also using the optical device so I can get club data from FS play without having to put markers on my clubs. It will be a great combination.

Played this a few times now and been 5 & 6 under Par Love that it makes you think I always take the level yardage off so a 165 hole with a 25 drop plays as 140 Had a horrendous cold all week otherwise I would have played it a few more times

They do have a putting guide and the name across, giving the camera something to read pin off, I beginning to think there's to many dots on the Square balls.

@golffe gspro gaz . After you started using pro vs the numbers where spot on mate . But the guy i watched he used a pro v on square software in the driving range and was getting draws and fades and good spin numbers.

@golffe I think your right about the square ball having to many dots on . The square ball is going 10-15 yards less because it's not a good ball you put stickers on the club with a pro v perfect 👌

@@MereMortalsGolf The Square has to have something to show GSPro, all the spin numbers that came from Square to GSPro from Prov1's worked as good as the GC3 we have. This is my go to from now on.

1) I noticed the red, green, blue on the front & back setting when you were setting up the course. I wonder if it's only on this course? I tried setting both to blue and the other one turns a different color automatically. I wonder if it's a software glitch on this course. 2) I wonder on course play if the fixed & tracking camera setting is designed into the course since there is no option for it in course play. Maybe only the 2 new courses have the tracking feature that you like ? There should be a setting for it on course play or one common place where one setting can be used for all play options (range, target, course). 3) I agree with all of the numerous items that you mentioned for improvements. Also, the level & tee settings should be under a player profile tab like other golf software does and not change then once set. I did send a list of items to Square support a couple of days ago (they actually suggested I send it to [email protected]), but I haven't heard back. I'll add these items to the list, but maybe someone with some pull could also do this?

In regards to shot shape, here's what I've gathered from the chart in the manual. 1) No club sticker & unmarked ball = no side spin & estimated back spin measurement - all shots will appear straight no matter how one tries to fade or draw the ball. May lead to straight pushes and pulls though I think - not sure since there is no club data when the club sticker is not used. 2) No club sticker & marked ball = measured side spin & back spin - shots shaped as Square measurement determines though without club data. 3) Club sticker and unmarked ball = estimated side spin and back spin - I'm not sure how accurate the estimated spins are but you'll see some shot shapes. The added club data will influence the shot I believe. 4) Club sticker and marked ball = measured side spin and backspin (same as unmarked clubs and marked balls - the marked ball will have the spins measured).

@@golffe Thanks for doing these videos! I enjoy the course reviews and the experimentation with the Square LM. I'm guessing using the club stickers with the dotted ball will get the best results on a hit based on the measured club and ball data. It really depends on how well the Square measures the data and how the software algorithm interprets it all. I've seen a recent YT that shows the Square LM displays a slightly lower ball speed compared to the Garmin R50 & Rapsodo MLM2 Pro. There are so many variables in the software settings, club sticker/no club sticker, dotted ball/undotted ball, and past/future updates that it's hard to work out the best combinations to get the most realistic results. Will you be trying any of the vinyl dots with the Square pattern on balls that you usually play?

The rookie/amateur/professional Level setting is under the "number of players" option when playing a course. Also has the option to set the tee position. Do you know what the Level setting changes ? Also, I agree about shot data remaining on the screen during course play. That was in a list of items I sent to Square support.

I was on amateur setting, I have heard it straightens the ball out don’t know how true that is. Change it to pro tomorrow. See how that works.

@@golffe I heard the same thing about anything other than professional straightens out shots. The manual for the app itself says something like rookie and amateur apply distance or direction more advantageously than your actual shot..a little word salad but I take that as there are assists helping you out. I always play professional just to be safe..and thanks for all your videos. Watched a ton of them. Cheers from Canada

@ I personally don’t do any videos. My garage setup does the job for me but it’s nothing to look at and not a lot of room for recording…but looking forward to your next one on pro. One the thing I noticed is it never stays on professional. Defaults to Amateur, change it to pro, play a round and it goes back to amateur so have to check it before every round. Keep that in mind. @@golffe all good, just wanted to make sure there wasn't an issue. It really loses a lot of the depth without shadows rendering on high like they do in very high or ultra, but gotta do what you gotta do. I do my testing on a 1070ti to make sure they'll run well on cards that aren't super high end, but obviously not all courses will run nicely on slower cards like that

I'm 20.mims in and you're still talking about draws and fades...you can't draw or fade with no side spin! I enjoy watching your videos but I'm surprised that you haven't noticed that all of your shots are straight lines.

@ yeah that’s me, can’t draw at all, if I try to hit a driver with a draw I get a high fade. I played Monday IRL everything was a straight shot, the wheels will fall of soon. You do get a straighter shot with undotted balls, but my mate played today and has a nasty hook, he was getting it on Square and GSPRO with undotted balls. Have you tried it yourself, would be nice to know what you found.

Sorry and thanks Golffe. Sorry because you played a bad looking course because I forgot to check how it looked in all the quality graphics setups. I always play Ultra (it didn't had any issue there) and there's a checking in Unity for the other setups but this time I forgot, and most people don't play Ultra, so that's a big issue. There was a bad tree culling in most quality setups (other than Ultra) which made most of the trees not appear when playing. Thank you for making me notice that. I already fixed that and there's an update wich works better for all quality setups. Thank you and sorry again....

I have the use of Trackman, Foresight, Flightscope and garmin. This blows the Garmin away there is no point to the Garmin now. The number are so close to the others, I had a 2 no reads on my last round that could be user error, but I had no reads and miss reads all the time on Mevo+, when using GSPro SGT I would rather have a no read than a miss read. Also use the GC3 on a web tour and had a no read and a real bad driver spin miss read, even the big boys can't get it right all the time

@@mckenziemichae after the last update I think GSPro is closer to the right distances, sometimes the square wedge play comes up short. I’m thinking that both are getting very close to just using them both on standard. I’ll give it a few more tests on square courses.

I'd say I'm getting low spin with lofted clubs but the distance and shot shape for each club with no dots is spot on.

Hi there, I have an idea for you to test...how far does the dotted ball go without dots? Your ProV1 goes far, but is that only because of no spin?...Your dotted ball goes nowhere but is that only because it spins too high? What happens if you tipex the saint nine dots away. How far does that ball go I'd love to know?

I'd say the Saint Nine balls are quality balls too, I suppose if I used a top Flite, Srixon or wilson as a basic ball they might be less distance, I will try them today.

I think (could be wrong :) )the very low spins (estimated spin that for some reason as pointed out by another KZbinr is very low after the previous update) are when Golffe is using the club sticker with an undotted ball. The higher spins are true readings as seen by the Square with the dotted ball.

@@tomgee632 I use the dotted balls on clubs from lob wedge to pitching wedge for spin, then as I hit a naturally high ball I use undotted balls, the spin is lower than normal but the distance is closer to my distance IRL, if I use the option +5 I use dotted balls all the time. I think if you could get prov1s with dots on this would be closer to my distances. Over all it’s only 3% off the distance using the normal ball option on the squares software.

I have started to use none dots for 9 iron to driver and dots PW to lob, I found that before the connector to GSPro was updated the spin was off. It's the reverse of the Mevo I used silver dot on the long irons and no dot on the wedges.

Much love to your work on this course; if I were to pick a single course (as opposed to a resort with multiple courses, this still would be behind Bandon, Pebble Beach, Pinehurst and a few others for me) that I were to choose to travel to this is the one I would want to play. Well said Gary the younger generation are so lucky today to have gadgets like this unfortunately I’m nearly 60 started of with the mevo nearly 4 years ago which I loved great unit but I to have just gone to the square which is a brilliant unit I find it spot on love the chipping and putting also you don’t need as much room which is great I will be sticking with the square as I think it will get better and better over time believe it or not I actually like the standard square dotted ball as well keep up the good videos

Your comments at the end of this video has me wondering about my Square LM. I saw the photo in a Mygolfspy review that shows the capacitors not being soldered in (causing the IR lights to dim) and the repair that was made. Is that what you are referring to? Does Square support know which units were shipped with the non-soldered capacitors and will the owners be contacted? I believe I got the 2nd batch shipped in early Nov. I haven't seen the dimming but maybe I've been lucky so far. There have been some non-reads after the ready prompt though. Thanks, Tom

I think I have played this course on Creative Golf 3d. I am impressed by the quality of the software from this company. It's not gonna win any awards but it looks good and the gameplay seems good as well. If Garmin had these graphics to go along with their 43k courses on the R50 I'd buy one in a heartbeat.

@@anthonyc5660 it got worse, then there was another update on the square site for GSPro and it was this that works perfectly with original dotted balls, I only have the 3 that came with the Square and they are lasting as long as kirklands do.
