Ip Chun's Jik Jeung after his Pak Sao at end of Wu Sao movement reminds me of Jedi/Sith Force Push. 'Energy is only used at end of the movement.' That Qi Force wave will push you into reactor shaft. Oh mamma!

Dude people like you are the problem in the Wing Chun community. You gonna delete the master of masters, their father, Ip Man’s Siu Lim Tao too if posted? Grandmaster Ip Ching is my Sigung yet I have expressed nothing but respect and admiration for his brother while you wipe him away.

The dramatic music along with the grandmaster's powerful image while demonstrating sil lim tao not only to make it feel more as if empowering but also makes you feel more confident and determined as you keep practicing this form.

When you've seen so many Sil Lim Tau forms on youtube, each one varying in one form or another and you finally find the form demonstrated exactly how I was taught it.

the problem is that everyone assumes too much. you might all want to find a good sifu to explain it to you so you don't go off training for years thinking the wrong things. Forms are not fighting moves. they are training practices to develop proper movements and ways to move. You don't go into a fight and use sil lim tao to hit your opponent. The most advanced kung fu practitioners have control of inner energy, which means that they use different energy than just muscles. We know it as qi or chi. Its not something that you use simply by practicing sil lim tao every day. you must know what you are trying to attain. Its not by simply copying youtube videos and memorizing things that you hear from every guy who calls himself a sifu. People seem to think that if someone calls himself Sifu Bob that he is full of knowledge and you should trust what he says. Absolutely NOT. You should find a real person who you can touch hands with so that you know he/she is the real deal, as opposed to someone who watched a few videos and memorized the forms and decided to make a youtube channel to make money. Using inner energy takes years and is only effective if you have been doing the training correctly. Most of the youtube sifus give the impression that all you have to do is meditate often and do the forms slowly and relax. it's way way way more than that. Again, find a real live teacher who has credentials and not a big ego who shows off all the time. Good luck and take your time. Becoming a good martial artist takes a long time and hard work.

This is not a judgment on his form before anyone thinks that. I'm aware this guy is the apple off the og tree and knows more about it than I could hope for in my life. This is the best performance of this I've seen and probably reminiscent of his father when young. That said I wonder if he has a bad left knee. It looks like he's leaning his weight onto the right one. I've been rebuilding my right knee using this form and gung gee and at first it was hard to distribute my weight evenly.......... I used to practice shotokan until my injury and since than wing chun and hung gar have saved my body. Happy training everyone. Amituofo!!

People are worried about the spelling of Chinese names, but not at all concerned about the fact that wing chun is a bullshit martial art. That was the cue for all of the wing chin "fighters" to chime in about its combat effectiveness. The same "fighters" that have never had a real fight. Lol

+Zimmermania! Amazing. There is no end to the snobbery of some wanna be martial artists. There's more to Kung Fu than violence. Piss off back to your MC Dojo.
@danielm9698 жыл бұрын
+Zimmermania! Ha-ha-ha! You really don't understand nothing in Martial Arts! Traditional Martial Arts ... Let me remind you that a fight is won by the fighter not by the Martial Art style. For you (as well as for most of the peoples) the supreme Martial Art is MMA. But this MMA is just a social accepted surrogate of the fights in Martial Arts, invented to take bullies off the street. The Martial Art masters use to say: "The right place for a sword is in its sheath. But if it comes out, must do its job: to kill" This mean that you don't want to fight. But if you need to fight, that do it as good as you can - and many times this mean to destroy you opponent in order to survive. There are no protections, no rules, no referees. At the end, the standing person is the winner. The lay down guy is usually dead. I can assure you there are plenty of Martial Arts masters which could easy kill in few seconds great champions in MMA!

+Zimmermania! Just saying for almost 20 years I have been in legit life or death fights as part of my occupation. I will be the first to admit that in a ring, Wing Chun sucks, but if you know Wing Chun, on the street, where I can say "I did what I did to defend my life, sorry the guy's elbow is busted up and his left eye is jello" it works and I do not care about the ring, what I care about is going home to my wife. I think what happens is people watch MMA and stuff and have NO CLUE, that the Octagon is COMPLETELY different that the street.
@hiriottapa40268 жыл бұрын
lol so ..... you are
@johnschmalbach82438 жыл бұрын
+Hiri Ottapa how so. some arts don't do well "pure" in different environments. Alan Orr has trained good MMA people in Wing Chun for the striking game but WC has no ground game so on the Octagon or falls short. on the street however you usually don't end up in a ground fight so WC proves to be effective. you have to remember SLT of just showing the foundational hand and arm movements, you don't fight that way. also real fight application doesnt look like Donnie Yen in the movies.

@perrypelican94764 жыл бұрын
what did you get out of it? what did sil lim tao do for you? you say haste makes waste. Why? What exactly is the benefit of sil lim tao? Do you know or are you just repeating what you saw from a bunch if youtube videos? do you have a real live sifu who has special skills, or is it just talk. i am not trying to insult you but so many people watch supposed sifus who are just ordinary people who act like they have some kind of deep knowledge but are usually just trying to build a youtube channel using things they heard on other videos. To get a proper start in kung fu, you need a real live sifu who has credentials, not someone who can repeat what he watches in other videos.
