What a beautiful testimony of a life well lived. I didn’t know Chef, but I feel I do after listening to his loving friends and family. On a spiritual note, its a bit sad and shocking to hear the Priest cross herself saying “in the name of God”. Have you decided to remove The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit? It’s their church, after all.

She strays far too far from the biblical text for me to accept her explanations as faithful to the Word - Although I recognise that it is interesting to reflect on the place of slavery in society at the time of the writing of the New Testament

The "Trinity" is a Roman Catholic definition of the "Godhead". It is a man-made fabrication. Nowhere in the Bible is God called a "Trinity". No man on earth, not even the entire world has the authority to define God. He's quite capable of defining himself. And he did so in the Bible. Never did he or his son define him as a "Trinity". This is Rome's word. Rome owns it. It belongs to the one who created it. And Rome can change it whenever it wishes. No man is compelled to accept nor to use Rome's definition of God. But we will ALL be held to account to the God of the Bible!!! Let no man deceive you. God is not mocked. And Rome will burn for deceiving the whole world.

When you play it, that sounds divine. I really think a full video of Fugue and Tocatta played like this would be wonderful to watch and listen to. Thanks for this, btw. Very interesting info.

I am one of those "Who tuned in for cat and stayed for catechism." I was first introduced to Dean Robert and the Garden Congregation because of my love for cats. First, on KZbin, I found his reading of Kipling's JUST SO STORIES, especially "The Cat Who Walked by Himself," and from there I discovered the Garden Congregation. It was a great support to me and to many others during the pandemic, and it continues to be a support to this day.

Thank you. This was excellent. I am a Catholic religion educator originally from Massachsetts. Very interested in her work and in Jewish history and biblical studies and post-Catican II Catholic Feminist authors. Her combination of scholarship, Jewish comfortableness with the Bible and her human warmth and humor makes for a refreshing approach.

A false Christian faith inspired by the devil. The fires of hell have been prepared for the whole lot of you reprobates! It will be more tolerable for Sodom than it will be for those who have a false perverted gospel and perish in their wickedness. Progressive Christianity is wicked through and through. Repent and find true life in Christ which leads to godliness and holiness. Your in the absolute worst position a sinner can find themselves! See Revelation 6:12-17; 20:11-15. This is your end.

"God doesn't like us but has promised to love us." Seriously? Really? I have cringed so many times listening to this priest. Just awful theology.

...at 50:03 you said the Paul doesn't say that slavery is wrong...yet we read in 1 Timothy 1:9-10(NIV) "We also know that the law is made not for the righteous but for lawbreakers and rebels, the ungodly and sinful, the unholy and irreligious, for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers, for the sexually immoral, for those practicing homosexuality, for slave traders and liars and perjurers-and for whatever else is contrary to the sound doctrine" Notice Paul includes "slave traders" with all of these! If Paul condemns the slave trader, how do you think he feels about slavery? You can't include slave traders with the unholy and irreligious and still be "ok" with slavery. I know this is a complex issue, but you have to recognize that the Apostle Paul is addressing an important issue here.

...42:45 you said Jesus is OK with sex workers?...uhhh. That's not what Jesus said or taught. He forgave the woman caught in adultery and said, "go and sin no more", ironically, in the Gospel of Mark which you said you loved so much! We are to forgive. That doesn't mean we are OK with sin but it does mean that we shouldn't judge whether or not someone will be with God after this life just because they are doing things that seem to us as wrong. We are taught to love our neighbor as our selves. A Hebrew proverb elevated by Jesus! Loving your neighbor is NOT the same thing as being OK with your neighbor's sin.
