The water level must have been way down when you filmed this. Or is that normal pretty much??

Condiment tackle box, I am so stealing that idea.

Ok I love your videos! I’m trying to go camping at Lake Moomaw just like this but I cannot find any info online about how to kayak in like you did! Can you help me out? Where do I park my car, will it be safe, dogs allowed, how do I pay, do I need a fishing license, basically I need to know all the things. Most importantly, where do I park to kayak over there? Please help? 😬

Might have to steal that condiment box idea. It was pretty good. We are planning a trip to Cape Lookout at the end of April.

Thanks for watching! I'm glad you appreciated the condiment box. Have a great time on your trip!

Nice video! Did you guys have any issues with the Giant Green Head Flies?
@scottwilson113 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! No, fortunately we didn't have any bug issues at all. We got really lucky with insects and weather.

Do you know if camping is allowed on the islands? Looking forward to visit the area. Looks very nice.
@scottwilson113 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure about the specific rules regarding "primitive" camping on the surrounding islands. We were actually wondering that ourselves. A few locals have left comments on this video... maybe they could help. Thanks for watching!

We come here every year. I was impressed you cliff jumped off the wall. Did you find the rope swing? It's on the left if you kayak in from the marina. We always camp at Bolar Mountain because I need a shower facility. Thanks for sharing!
@scottwilson113 жыл бұрын
I don't recall seeing a rope swing, but we'll look for it next time! Good tip about Bolar Mountain and the shower facilities. Thanks for watching!

Hey there a few questions. What was the dock that you launched from? How far of a paddle was it Greenpoint Campground? Thanks for your help. Just subbed your channel.
@scottwilson114 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! We launched from Coles Point Boat Ramp. The paddle to the campground isn't far at all. About 20-30 minutes or so at an average pace. Have fun!

Please, the next time you come to our lake, make sure and learn what the freshwater bouys mean!!! The ones you paddled thru in order to get to the cliffs were telling you that there is no admittance into that area!!! I have seen boulders the size of the front of a car come off of those cliffs. It is because of this kind of reckless behavior that the local dive team gets called out. Know the laws before you play.
@jonathonhedrick9663 жыл бұрын
Been fishing camping and swimming at lake moomaw for nearly 30 years now and I totally agree with you. The wall is not a play ground although it can be fun and very attractive however I have also seen boulders that would cover small bass boats come off that cliff and at times have seen this turn into serious emergencies calls. Respect nature it’s a wild place!

Thanks for the heads up. We'll be more aware and careful next time. Beautiful lake!

Thanks for watching! We launched from Coles Point Boat Ramp, which is just a short paddle to the campsite. We would love to explore more of the lake someday as well.
