I'd be filthy rich with that bet. A 150 yard shot is a chip shot with my 14" Contender pistol chambered in 7-30 Waters. I took a Fallow Deer buck at 100 yards with this pistol offhand. I also took an Imperial Elk at 125 yards with my 10" Contender pistol chambered in .357 Maximum offhand. How did I make these shots? Shooting these guns at distance a lot. You've got to break some eggs to make an omelet.

For a deer blind that would be a good setup. I use a lanyard ring with a short braided leather strap so I don’t think it’s a good fit for me.

First, awesome invention- I have been looking something like this for a long time- I received mine from you about a month ago and have been doing quite a bit of practicing with my different hunting pistols. You mentioned putting the trigger guard up against the guide wheel. What I have done so that I can actually rest the cylinder up against the guide wheel is wrap some leather around the guide wheel (I just use an old leather glove). This way you don't burn the guide wheel. It really helps with some of my revolvers that have 10" barrels. Just a tip I thought some people might be able to use for themselves.

Sorry, 4 years later this popped up. Let's make it more interesting, if they don't make the shot they owe you whatever you were going to pay out. I used to bow hunt, took a couple does and spikes, never a nice buck.I practiced out to 30 yards, several times I had a 10 point standing at 40, never drew on them. One came into 20 yards but was facing me and then turned and ran off when the doe he was following said See ya later. They never did that during muzzle or shotgun season, darn it.

Good eye Mark. I am wearing a prototype gun harness or holster. There are a lot of bugs to work out so it won't be available for quite some time. When finished it should work similar to a bino harness and attach to many of them.

For anyone who might come across this video and wonder if the Trifecta works with a Primos trigger stick, it does!! You simply need to use the included silver threaded adapter they supply for you.

I just purchased one of your rests, and I was able to answer my own question regarding whether or not the rest will work with a Primos trigger stick- the answer is yes!! For anyone out there interested, I simply used the threaded silver adapter, took off the yoke on the Primos, and attached the Trifecta to it. I placed it on my short monopod triggerstick first, which is what I normally use. It just seemed too unstable, so I attached it to my short Primos tripod-much more stable. I plan on testing it out this weekend if possible.

I’ve used Barnes 120ttsx bullets in my 7-08 for years now. The best powder bar none for 7mm08 is Winchester StaBall 6.5. I’m getting velocities between 100-200fps faster than any other powder and sun moa accuracy all day long. Trick with all Barnes is they need to either have a big jump to the lands or be very close. I’ve never been able to get them to shoot at coal. Downfall they are expensive.

That’s cool you’re learning things. A 44 special with almost no recoil, depending on the bullet, will go completely through a any good size deer. Most of my deer, I shot with a 44 special, just with homemade lead flatnose I think 214 grain Out of a 6 inch barrel Ruger blackhawk. If I recall correctly, I use 10 grains of unique behind it. Unless you’re hunting exotic game, a 44 special will do anything you need. If you do need more horsepower, you can take your 44 magnum and put 44 magnum bullets in it, but it’s so largely not necessary. I hate recoil hate muzzle blast, and after all, I’ve been through working on so many ranches all my life a light loaded 44 or 45 long colt will do anything you need yeah, you can make a hand cannons out of them easily, But why. It takes the fun out of hunting if you’re not happy and comfortable shooting your gun.

S&W support out right told me you can not use underwood ammo in this gun. You can use ammo running at 40 cal numbers fine. But full 10mm loads and this thing is not reliable. Get a RIA 1911 or a Glock if you want to depend on a gun for your life with 10mm. First and last S&W for me.

I have taken game with single shot pistols and found they offer no advantage and have to be rested and you loose velocity compared to even a carbine length barrel and reloading is slower than bolt or lever and they are cumbersome to carry compared to a sling rifle.I think the XP 100 is great and contender of couse I have a LoneEagle in 3006 really nit great but good conversation piece , rested with 1×4 redfield is accurate hunter to maybe 150 yds.

Thanks for the nice compliments. My opinion is if you want tiny groups a scope would be better. A dot is going to be faster to acquire, and might be better for hunting. I may put a dot on the gun you saw in this video.

Groo here Resting the butt on the rest will cause stringing , more so with revolvers. Shoot the gun as if one handed , and cup the grip with the other [resting the heel of the support hand on the pad, not the gun] Loose the thumb high hold , hold the gun like a hammer... been benching handguns for 50 years [ 22's to SSK hand Cannons and deer hunter with handguns] most problems caused by shooter

The point of getting the 4.6 inch barrel is to actually have a 4 inch barrel gun. Semi automatic handgun barrel length is measured from the chamber. I don't know why they do this but that 4 inch gun you have is actually a 3.5 inch barrel. I can't see a reason to buy a 10mm and then handicap it.

Nice video. I've been hunting medium and big game for the last 40 years with handguns. My favorite go to handgun is an open sighted Ruger 41 magnum blackhawk purchased in 1981 which I've harvested dozens of deer with mostly stand hunting. If all of your anticipated shots are around 100 yards or less, it's hard to beat a good handgun.

I bought the 4 inch. Cleaned it spotless. Cycled all the BS 180gr loads that a 40S&W could do. It will not cycle 200gr handloads at 1200fps or Underwood 220 hard cast. For a piece that was the price you stated, I am very disappointed. If I wanted to run 40 loads, I'd use a 40.

I’d certainly, be starting my load development on a bench. Tripod isn’t going to be as stable, better off taking one problem out of the equation.

@Trifecta_Handgun Жыл бұрын
I completely agree with you regarding taking one problem out of the equation. The tripod you see in the video has been used for about 9 years and well over a 1000 shots. I know I can shoot good groups with it when I do my part. It was not a good day shooting for me. I am not an expert by any means, but know I can get under an inch on a good day. Thanks for the comment. Brian
