Great! Good advice. I bet if youngsters took it too they would have longer careers. Gymnasts too. Our bodies are nice to us when we are nice to our body.

Love it. I'm in my 40s. Just started learn to skate lessons in a few months ago. Haven't really skate since I was a kid... and never did anything other than moving forward. I'm having a great time learning as a grown up. I keep having "I have no idea how to do that" days and then i discover I can do it. I just figured out an outside 3-turn and a backwards cross over. I have landed a waltz jump. It was not pretty, but i stayed up. Now I need to figure out the inside 3-turn. One day at a time...

That is awesome! Excited for you! Please keep trying... Here are some things that help me that might work for you. Filming yourself to constantly adjust / improve your movement can really make a difference. And to stay in it for the long haul, don't make practice too repetitive or long. Vary your routine to so you don't over-stress the same muscle groups. Pause, stretch and listen to your body immediately when something hurts. Get in habit of doing long flowing moves as if you are stretching and skating. That helps with presentation too. Congrats on the waltz jump!

You are off to a good start with this flip attempt. Your arms look strong and controlled. Stretch your left arm back longer after you complete the three turn to draw back with more power. Your landing position is very nice on that deep outside edge. The main correction to get a one - foot landing is to keep your weight over the left hip as if you are doing a loop jump with a toe - pick assist. Your skating is lovely and inspiring!

28yo, started skating 8 months ago, and I'm Inspired! Beautiful you, doing beautiful moves! I rewatched your toe loop and salchow multiple times, next time I'm on ice I'll try to match your grace <3 can't wait to see more =D

Yay! Another new adult skater! Love that! And I also started around age 28 and was inspired by other skaters who were in their 40s and 50s. They were so skilled and graceful. I guess the best part of being inspired is that, you get to inspire others in time. Good luck, and I'm sure you will outdo anything I've done here. Skate Happy!

You are so kind! I look at performances like most other skaters...Some parts of this hit the mark, and others, not what I was reaching for. There's always so much to improve upon, but at least I'm having a great time along the way and learning not to be nervous.

You can do it! Keep listening to your body, do reasonable number of reps with new moves, stretch, etc. And most of all make practice enjoyable. Best of luck!
