If I remember right this was literally created for the artists to blow off steam/get over writers block etc. I miss these days of anime. Excel saga was a great one from the studio.

I remember that they were burned out after wrapping up Excel Saga, so they took a one off joke from there and made it into a gag OVA.

これ何線なんだろう？壁のレンガや線路脇の柱(開削工法で造られた路線によく在る)からすると銀座線、丸ノ内線、都営浅草線だけど、線路幅が狭軌だったら上記3路線には当て嵌まわらいな。 もし、狭軌なら上記路線同様古い路線の日比谷線か？

15 yrs later....we now live in an era where there's a lot of trash anime and they even get season 2 while the real gems are discontinued (like Chrome shelled Regios, etc...)

Es el problema de los OVA, si no están apoyados en un manga popular, o en una serie de Tv difícilmente logran ser populares. Pero eso mismo ayuda a que salgan obras como estas, en donde los productores y directores saben que no ganaran mucho dinero, pero podrán hacer una mejor expresión artística. En este caso se nota en el cuidado en el diseño de los fondos.

Un anime de romance y fantasía oscura, fuera de lo genérico, super like desde Hannover, Alemannia, perdón por mi espannol ya que no es bueno. Este anime lo he de recordar como aquel cuyo ending me hizo llorar. Ein Anime aus Romantik und dunkler Fantasie, super 👍 aus Hannover, entschuldige mein Spanisch, da es nicht gut ist. Ich erinnerte mich an diesen Anime als den, dessen Anime ending mich zum Weinen brachte.

because, like excel saga, its essentially a spoof anime, making fun and jabbing at all the silly tropes of a particular genre. while Excel Saga does multiple genre, with each episode. Puni Puni Poemi is simply a spoof parody of the magical girl genre.
