I have a big stomach also. I’ve told myself it’s hereditary, but in reality it’s gotten bigger since menopause. I watch what I eat(though I could do better), I swim, and do water aerobics but these things don’t help. I’ve looked into some type of surgery but am scared and at this point of my life wonder if it’s even worth it. At the end of the day, I’m where I started, no solution. I totally feel your frustration, dissatisfaction with your body, and wanting an answer. God says we are wonderfully made so I’m standing on that, doing my best with my body/stomach, and learning acceptance with the things I can’t change. ❤ Hang in there and I’m sending up prayers for you.

I agree with you 100%. I am a mom of a 20 and 24 yrs old and my husband and I made sure to create that atmosphere for them to come talk to and with us about every and anything! That is something I wished I could have done with my parents but was never made easy for me to do and I vowed I would not make that mistake when I have my children.

had a bad houseguest who was a widower father and his 3 year old daughter who stay with me to help him get on his feet, because he was about to become homeless. We only had a verbal agreement that he could stay at my house in exchange for doing house repairs and I would still pay him for those repairs. I ended up paying for all the food, finding daycare and paying for the daycare, I drove him to appointment, because he didn't have a car or license, I did the laundry, and cooked for the daughter, cleaned the kitchen, bathrooms, dining room, living room, den, the family room and the basement. This guy and his daughter were slobs. And I had to put up with the father's uninvited guest constantly coming over. I tried to encourage this guy for two months, because of his wife's recent death and the difficulties of being a single father. One day on a weekend the father had a job assignment, so he had to use a different new babysitter for the weekend. Well he didn't want to pay the new sitter, so the new babysitter who was the father's friend asked me to pay and be reimbursed by the father. The babysitter later phoned me to inform me that the father had stole and posted my laptop, 4,000 watt generator, and many other expensive items from my house on-line . The babysitter gave me this shocking news of theft, while the father and his daughter was out of the house, visiting his cousin. I checked and all of those items were missing, plus I unlocked his room and found some of my items hidden in the father's bags and drug paraphernalia though out my entire house and I also found that the security cams where tampered with, that he lied about. That very night I texted him that he could not come back and the only time he could come back was to get his belonging with a police escort. The police would not continue to prosecute, because the babysitter refuse to testify because she was too afraid. I also found out from another one of the father's relatives that the apartment that he was living before he stayed with me, was with his mother. And the father had lied to me about why he left his mother's apartment. His cousin told me that he stole his mother's rent money 4 times and they were all evicted. At this point I have found out from DCYF that his 3 year old daughter is now in foster care and found out from friends that this guy is now living in a homeless tent encampment and I have seen him panhandling at the local Walmart and he has graduated from using crack to crystal meth. A total downward spiral at 47 years old. Sad all around. but one sad part is that he lied about his drug use, stealing my money and stealing my belonging and selling them and the fact that his daughter has no mother and now she has no father. The saddest part of all is that he did not secure a stable home for his child and that was the only chance he was going to get. Lessons learned for me, you can help people from a distance, but never have anyone live with you, because your peace and sanity will be shattered and they may steal from you and won't leave

Yea those people with all those friends I feel like they like quantity friends not quality. I’d rather have 3 quality friends over 100 “friends”. I’m an introvert and my mom always tried to make me make friends with her clients (she was a piano teacher). I hated it. I didn’t like the forced friendship then, and I still don’t like it! 😅😂😅😂

Used to have people do that to me. Not any more. Last was a family that had a quadriplegic son who really wanted to pass on. His future was taken from him in an auto accident. So I helped from time to time to keep him supported. When he passed his father who had buried his wife in the meantime thought he could lean on me like always for little problems. But I had retired early by then, and had only a small retirement fund to live off. He begged me to travel 20 miles to fix his car that I had neither the skill nor tools to do so. When he had a heart attack and hospitalized, his 2nd son called me up for a loan on airfare to see his dad in the hospital. He was incredulous that I would not help him out. I knew because he lived hand to mouth and never saved a dime I would never see that money come back. Besides, I was maxed out on my retirement, trying to make it to 62 to qualify for Soc Sec. Never heard from either of them afterward. They had lived for decades on hand outs and I was not going there. Now I hear from only one person, but just to say hello--and commiserate his poor decisions.
