Okay, don't force the fabric got it. As far as alignment goes, if you have it in your country, get some wonder tape. It's a machine washable tape that you can sew through. It also disappears after 1 wash.
@leec53633 жыл бұрын
Yeh I use a material called heat n bond to hold the designs down before sewing. When I started I used wonder web but it felt like I wasn’t learning how to handle the fabric correctly . I’d recommend it to start with but seeing without is more rewarding

Thanks for your video. I am trying to alter a sports jersey for a student. The coach gave me an extra jersey to cut up and use to enlarge the largest one she had. I have done fine adding underarm gussets, any two layer sewing is good. However, when I am going through top stitching for the side vents, joining more than two layers, neither of my machines are working. They pile gobs of thread on the bottom. I am using stretch needle, and correct settings for my machines to do this. I have a Husqvarna Viking Topaz 30 and a HV Designer SE. I managed to get the seams done mostly with my Huskylock s-21. The top stitching is important so I can make it match the other girls' jerseys. This is thin stuff.
@blackcountrybeastdesigns74363 жыл бұрын
Ok so are you in a position to add some webbing to make the layers more like one? If not (as I assume the vents are mesh) does your machine have pressure settings for the foot? when the fabric is really thin I reduce my foot pressure to the lowest setting, it could be that your foot is the enemy. If there is to much down pressure it'll rug the layers together and this will cause the thread to bunch. if you have no luck message me on Instagram with some pics and Ill see if I can help

1. dont pin it, 2. dont use scissors instead use a rotary cutter, 3. make sure you are sewing the correct side (spandex has a good side), 4. zig zag stitch, 5. it is good to have a machine where you can adjust the foot pressure, to keep the pressure pretty light, 6. while sewing pinch the fabric and keep your hand flat on the fabric (but do NOT pull the fabric through or push it up), 7. adjust how much you hold it as you sew to make sure it stays flat and unstretched, 8. use stretch needles and no other needles (75). 9. watch out for blunt needles and change them often. 10. practice.
