I know this was a year ago, but I’ve got a question: You seem to establish E. as an impressionable, naive woman very quickly. Now I wonder if during analysis based tasks, like what you were doing, should I make these conclusions based off 1 or 2 words, phrases etc.(sorry if this is stupid, I’m kind of tired and this provoked a thought😅)

I recommend just throwing ideas out there as soon as possible. Annotating a text at the start is messy, but as you get further into the text you will confirm or reject your previous ideas. The picture becomes clearer and clearer as you analyse more of the text.

Charles Dickens didn't write "A Christmas Carol." He quickly re-worked the manuscript of an obscure American couple within six weeks, to avoid impending debt. His influence was to secularize it and dilute it for mass consumption. My paper, "Evidence That ‘A Christmas Carol’ Was Originally Written by Mathew Franklin Whittier and Abby Poyen Whittier, Rather Than by Charles Dickens," can be downloaded from the link below; or, it can be read by searching for the paper's title on Academia.edu. www.ial.goldthread.com/MFW_APW_Carol.pdf

How would you distinguish which language choices are THE MOST important? I mean obviously, we can't write about every single tiny detail the author chose, but rather focus on the main stuff. How could we distinguish that clearly?

Great question Sophia. I'll make a video on ranking techniques by how good they are. It comes down to prioritising the juiciest, most important language choices.
