There is a fantastic collection of Magic Lanterns at the Magic Castle in Los Angeles. A hidden treasure to be revealed some day.

Was watching an old 1973 english special on KZbin. A guest was talking about Christmas at the turn of the 20th century. Her father and brother would bring out a Magic Lantern at Christmas. I wonder if they ever made Christmas slides for a Magic Lantern.

Reading about centuries-old mirages and people’s idea of perception and magic lanterns were mentioned, so I thought I would take a look. Interesting video.

The Milton Keynes cows, sheep, goats plus cabbages etc. were made at the Stacy Bushes workshops. The materials used were supplied as waste material from building sites in the area with the exception. of the cement and colorcrete. There are time capsules placed within each cow/calf. My son worked at the studios at the tender age of 9 with Liz who encouraged many young people in the area to participate in many of her projects i.e. murals on the under passes, totem poles (Great Linford) etc. Last but not least the concrete farm that was constructed as an example of farm life. She was a fantastic lady - when her contract finished with the MKDC the concrete cows were moved to a field ear the railway line - not sure what happened to the other animals.

A 'Dancing Cat'? Calvin my friend, your cat does not dance. I have never seen Tom get up off his cushion and raise as much as a leg! All he does is move his head up/down and left/right... BUT... it is brilliant... and I congratulate you on an excellent piece of lectromechanical engineering. Wish I'd known about this 1940's do, as a real life 1940 person I'd have enjoyed being there. Bernard.
