hei this is a great video showing how to create loops songs from scrats. Having an MKII and Abelton yet not yet figured out how to midimap the loop function how you are showing in this video. Hi. This didn't work for me. I have the minilab 3 and Ableton Live 12 Lite. Clicked the midi button, everything that is mappable is shaded blue. Clicked on the Session record circle, which gets a square outline. Then I tap 8th pad and the midi is received, but no indication on the circle and the function doesn't work. Any idea what i'm doing wrong?

Thanks for this but I have a question. When you are making all your loops and the pads turn green, is there any way to turn specific loops off using the mini lab?

Hi, you're welcome and thanks for your question. There is a way to do that like you can see in one of my loop covers (e.g. kzbin.info/www/bejne/n3O5n6uQea2gaJI ) It's done with midi mapping. I've noted your questions and will try to record a tutorial video this weekend. Have a nice day! 💜

hey so i got my minilab 3, used my promo you get with it ,im wondering how do you get the app your on to actually record your music and such ?im new to this stuff so im confused i can’t find any video where they download that app your on ,do you have to pay for it or its free?

Hi, it's called Ableton Live Lite and its license is included if you've bought the Minilab 3. Search for "Ableton Live Lite download" in google. After downloading it you'll need to create an Ableton account and I guess you'll need the serial numer from the bottom of your Minilab. If it won't work, send me an email ([email protected]) and we are going to do a quick video call. :)

@@JoelLinus because it works differently. The MiniLab 3 is quite smarter and can detect Ableton on its own and if not there is the workaround I mentioned :)

Your timing is on point. Do you ever suffer lag from the controller? Recently in Ableton 12 I've noticed lag from the same controller and I rechecked my settings 🤷🏾♂️

That's weird. How high is the output latency of your soundcard? You can check it in the preferences. :)

Hi, first of all thanks for your purchase and your hint! I'm pretty sure the plugin you are refering to is Analog Lab V which is included if you buy a MiniLab 3. All the instruments I use are free for for Arturia users. :) Hope this helps. If you have problems to implement the plugin, let me know via mail (have a look on my channel info).

Amazing! Do you use custom mappings to achieve this? I just cannot seem to find an easy way to switch between tracks and record, do drums etc. But I see lots of people do it. Would you consider making a video on a behind the scenes/set up on how to get the working? 🥰

It's an Asus Zenbook 14 bought in 2020 but I actually wouldn't recommend it today when it comes to music production. You'll need more power and RAM in the long run, I guess.

How do you make the outputs of the loops so smooth? When I press the record button, it enters late and when I exit, it gives a slight pause. Where am I making a mistake?

I guess the problem is the tempo of your project. Turn on the metronome and listen to the clicks. There is probably one bar before the loop recording starts. Check out my tutorial video for more info about looping in Ableton: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y4CuZ2R-rb1pbqs
