What a cool place! Thanks for finding a true hidden gem. It's really a shame the hotel is in such a mess.

Yeah I think it would be a major expense to get it up to code is my guess. Maybe they just don’t have the clientele in this small town to justify the expense. I am not sure but that would be my guess. Thanks for watching.

Replacing the exterior walls with brick or stone did work at preventing fires. Prior to 1900 virtually every major city in the US burned down at one point or another due to being made predominately out of wood. Seattle burned down in 1889 NYC burned down in 1776 and 1845 San Francisco burned down in 1851 and 1906 Chicago burned down 1871 Baltimore burned down 1904 Kansas City burned down 1917 Denver burned down 1863 Philadelphia burned down 1850 Chattanooga burned down 1857 P.S. I quit looking after Chattanooga because as far as I can tell if you type in "great fire"and add a city name and you'll get a date for the city burning down.

We've been to the Springs twice. Didn't know about the dam. How far is it from the springs to the dam?
@bobbygsadventures2 ай бұрын
@@markl.9773 I would guess about a mile up the road or so. Just continue up the old Jeep trail road the crosses the stream by the spring and continues up the canyon. Thanks for watching.

@@bobbygsadventures Thanks for the info. We would be hiking so that could be a long mile!
@bobbygsadventures2 ай бұрын
@@markl.9773as a you come to the back side of the dam, there is a rather long switchback opposite side of the creek against the hillside that takes you up. Other than hiking back there you definitely need a high profile 4wd vehicle or some type of off-road vehicle. It gets a bit rough.

I’m amazed that bar gets enough patrons to stay in business. It looks like a great biker bar. Any idea if bikers ride out that way?
@bobbygsadventures3 ай бұрын
Well I would think on all terrain bikes. 47 miles of dirt roads probably isn’t the best riding for some street bikes.

The front screen door at the Big Horn used to be original to the building and had a deer hoof for the handle. This went on for at least 20 years that I know of and I always wondered if it was the same hoof. Glad to see they finally got a new door. There's some pretty good fishing in that stream, btw.
