As i say American sign language is stupid, British sign language is stupid. Sign language came so late in language development that we could have easily created a universal sign language for the whole world, but being selfish humans and protecting our tongues ( now that is irony ) we decided to create a thousand different languages. Humans, how stupid we are!

Would like this story and sign retold by plains nation interpreter. Many signs are not being spoken here. I enjoyed the story tellers expression, it was clear this was a favorite of his. I can see the glint in his eye at the start of his story. 😊 Loved his friends reaction too!

Thank you so much for this Rachel! The movie was so great. The part that you played, Jo, the social worker for deaf children is exactly what I want to do. I love ASL, and I love the Deaf community. Thank you.

My CI’s after going profoundly deaf in my early 30’s; read lips, then CI’s 9’years later … but never learned ASL; learning now… to assert my deaf rights…I keep being told I am hearing; but I am not… I feel the vibrations from the speakers, didn’t realize until recently and started playing music again. It’s sad only 1% of deaf Americans know ASL; and that’s all venues (if we are lucky enough) will give to the deaf/HOH. I currently need a speaker: to feel the music.. but not permitted at concerts; unless pay 1k more for front row… .. 😢 So I am learning ASl; so I can be included again after 20 years.. , thank you for being an inspiration… 🎶❤

I am a hearing person with a deaf step father and a deaf grandma. My stepfather is a Christian who goes to a church but the old deaf church was taken down, so he had to move to a new one the old church was in Sulphur, O.K. the new church he is in Davis O.K. witch is where we all live. I wish for all the deaf people a good life time.
