Have you observe an emergence of discussions of AI/ML concepts being integrated into mission command or C2 as we embrace an evolving operating environment and threat?

Good point. Listen to your people, then lead. I enjoyed my finance experience during the cold war and desert storm era. Our best finance officers were the ones who listened to their NCO's and considered their advice before making important decisions. 🔶

This guy is so far off the mark it’s unreal. It all sounds good but, but his explanation of MC is one born of salami sliced PME without any actual evidence. It’s really really poor.

Awesome Colonel👍🏾 Retired U.S. Marine. Graduate of Ranger Class 6-88. During the pre-Ranger course we had to do 10 dead hang pull-ups and the extra one. But the Marines had to do two extra ones: Pull-up 11 “One for the Ranger in the sky” Pull-up 12 “One for the Marine who put him there. Semper Fi.

I'm sure the soldiers in China, Russian, Iran, etc. are absolutely terrified by the idea of our Colonels doing deep breathing exercises! Let's continue this high tempo training.

This is what it’s about, helping/motiviating/supporting your ranger buddy and fellow rangers in general. Class 13-86, directly under the A, top row in the class photo. RLTW <1>

Sir, these videos are outstanding and a huge help. As a SNCO in the Air Force, we are currently adapting to Mission Command, and I’ve been referencing your videos regularly in my training plan development. Truly awesome insight!

Mission Command is a new term to me. How’s it defined and how does it contrast with other terms and concepts these days? Thank you!

Wow! I did not know I was doing that when I was a Reserve company commander (twice). I was a hand-off leader, as I was prior enlisted for 20 years and knew exactly what made soldiers "tick" and what would upset them. Bottom line, I made them the experts, gave the orders, and walk away to get some coffee. I just made clear to all my soldiers that the mission and training had to be accomplish 100% and to standard. When I went around "casually" and asking questions and then making them redo the whole training or keeping them late until the task was done, they understood I was serious about the mission.

It seems for me that MC requires much more training from your subordinates in order to be used at all. How can one tell that person A has enough expertise and person B doesn't? I'm trying to apply this to a more civilian case, where there's no definite schools on the subject

I don’t agree with any of them. We are human beings not their slaves. 1. Do what your boss says so long as it’s lawful. 2. Understand how your boss thinks and adjust accordingly 3. Anticipate your boss’s needs And in return, they must show appreciation. Otherwise, schedule a sit down to rehash expectations so no one is disappointed.

Army officer here, a big counter to moving towards the right is micromanaging (lack of trust OR leadership focused on pushing their own careers)
@AlexZ-lc6nl8 ай бұрын
Im gonna be honest, I have worked for industry for 5 years now and I just got into Med school...I decided to apply for the Army as an officer. I believe the leadership attribute and philosophy of honor is above and beyond the politics of jobs where you are dispensable and sometimes not allowed to grow as a professional due to poor management. This is great!

Concept of mission command exisisted since Prussian war-seen and studied by US after being use by Wehrmacht as Auftragstaktik.Think one of the best country applying it to real fight is Sweden and their famous NordBat 2 in Bosnia.
