While it is lovely to discover how it is to play cello this way, it was 1994 that a Dutch conductor Arthur Arnold @ArthurArnold invented and patented the "Arnold StandArt" , which was tried out and promoted by many top level cellists, (like Janos Starker, Steven Isserlis if I remember right) We played together for a few years in string quartet which we named the Standart Quartet, it was amazing time!

Very expressive Emmanuel. I am sure it is appreciated by Meneses followers. Your variation in vibrato intensity and width was especially effective.

Shin-i-chi, thank you so much! This was a very emotional piece for me to compose and to play. It was my intention to write a piece that would reach out to people, be contemporary and innovative but still be grounded in fundamental musical elements that touches us as people. I really appreciate your comment!

Hi Emmanuel, thanks for sharing! I'd be very interested to see the whole workshop as I wasn't able to watch live due to the time zone difference. Would it be possible to check out the complete video?

Oh my! Feldman understands Gershwin more than anyone I have ever heard play these preludes. The way a cellist can slide from one note to another allows the music to show off the Gershwin/jazz flavor it deserves.

Hi Roric, sorry for the long delay to respond, I am new to Gmail and did not see this till now, thanks so much for your comment! Absolutely love the Rococo, one of my favorite pieces, really heartfelt and soulful music with some of the best Tchaikovsky melodies out there .
