Just a word of caution. My doctor here in Tampa Florida. Dr. Robert Yelverton gave me a thermal injury during my Leep in March. I went to the er the day after with enteritis and Ileus! I spent 5 days in the hospital and the scans and doctors confirmed I had a thermal injury to a loop of my small intestines. The worst part is the doctors office ignored my pain and vomiting the next day. I’m still suffering physically and emotionally. Also wracked with thousands of dollars in medical bills. I wonder if any other women have experienced this thermal injury from a Leep? This was no joke and I hope doctors are more cautious and realize this instrument gives off a lot of vertical heat so some internal organs can be damaged. Thank God there was no perforation or else I would have needed a colorectal surgery. I did this procedure under anesthesia so I can’t imagine if I was awake when the scalding/thermal injury took place. I’m wondering if the older method of cold knife surgery isn’t better. I think it’s all about insurance and saving money because I also understand the C02 laser is just as effective but safer than Leep. Most doctors won’t invest in this $100,000 laser device.

But I cringe when Dr. Greger (and others) says, "...It's just how the system is set up..." Our system is set up by people. Sometimes we seem to want to reward people who advance new ideas that help humanity. But the idea that the profiting off the depletion or endangerment of people is sacrosanct - is confounding to me.
