I've been using this mixer since it came out in my home studio. Works just as good as the day I bought it. I could upgrade but why? Still sounds and works great.

i cant get the battery out
@terencemcculloch3294Ай бұрын
Some batteries for this vid cam are physically slightly over sized, check carefully before inserting, good luck getting it out! I drilled carefully into the top section of batt and screwed in a small screw and pulled it out.

I still have mine from 2012. Its a good rig but it can get very hot if operating for a long period of time. i just take 30 minute breaks so it can cool down.Find one used and you will really like it. Its still repairable via ICOM Service centers.

Very nice radios they are. I’m still torn between getting a 2000 or a 570 or 590 or kenwood 756 line
@videohowitworks4 жыл бұрын
I like the 590SG for HF, but Kenwood is winding down their Ham gear and their QC is suffering on later products. I have recently switched to ICOM 7610. Love it.

I just bought one today so I can monitor my part 15 C-Quam AM stereo station.being able to tune the expanded band right out of the box is a definite plus for me. I will be connecting it to my boombox so I can actually hear my station in Stereo. For information on our Hobby Broadcast C-Quam AM Stereo Album Rock Station head to thelegacy.shorturl.com

I am happy to see there still is some activity on AM Stereo, esp Part 15. What people do not realize a lot of the Ubiquity AM receivers can decode C-Quam AM Stereo pilots. But they are starting to phase out those chipsets. The Western world never embraced AM stereo and it helped kill off the AM band faster.

I bought one of these units in early 1994, and I still have it. It still has a very faded ((AM Stereo/FM Stereo)) label on the front. The volume control on my unit has become scratchy from years of use, and the band switch is touchy. My observation, along with that of other people on newsgroups at the time, was that the FM is insensitive and extremely prone to overload. Perhaps, SONY fixed the problem in the custom IC that went into the unit being sold on this video. The AM, though, was like nothing that I had heard out of a headphone radio at the time. The AM section of virtually all headphone radios of the mid 1980s through the 1990s was mono with a sharp cutoff around 3 kHz.

The Galaxy 2100 had a warbling issue on Side Band which was due to a power fluctuating issue inside the circuit board. Wasn't noticeable on am. only on sideband where the slightest power issue would cause a frequency shift. This is what I was told by the tech that worked on mine. I sold mine, bought a superstar 3900 put a frequency counter on it it was the same radio without the warbling problem If you ever get another one of these 2100 and want to sell it let me know on here and all give you my email to arrange the purchase. I'd love to get my hands on another one of these they're very hard to find now
@videohowitworks4 жыл бұрын
TimeRider. I have not seen one since I posted this video! The warble was bad on these radios. At this point, it is nostalgia for me and most of these radios have seen their day and are cadavers or rotted away in a landfill!

I will never buy a Kenwood again...I sent mine to K3TEN Electronics in New Jersey to be repaired and that was 14 months ago at the time I wrote this (29-Dec.-2018). I have had to take legal action against them or him because they refuse to contact me or respond. His son Mark Conners has taken over the business in New Jersey just across the river from Philadelphia. I know this has nothing to do with the why I wont buy another Kenwood, but that reason is that I had the TS-2000 for only 2 years and everything started going wrong with it.
@videohowitworks4 жыл бұрын
Hi Mark. Sadly, the best way to get a Kenwood serviced is to go through Kenwood themselves. But the QC on Kenwoods has been falling. Kenwood is actually winding down their Ham market. It is becoming obvious.
