Yeah. I have a B.A. in Japanese. The best way to write it would be "Byousoku 5cm". A Japanese person would read it as "センチメートル (Long version like senchimeetoru)" or as "センチ (senchi, the shorthand way of saying it)" So the total Japanese text of the title, which you can hear Akari say in the beginning scene (provided you watch the subbed version), is "Byousouku Go Senchi"

I don't know a single word in Japanese. That "Byousoku 5 senchimeetoru" is just what I read all the time over the internet as the original name of this movie. Check the IMDb and Wikipedia page of it, "Byôsoku 5 senchimêtoru" is what they say. I really don't know what you are talking about. Maybe you are right, but I think it is pretty much negligible. Just tell me directly what to do and I will correct myself.

"senchimeetoru" < As someone who speaks Japanese, this makes me wince. It's just a katakana reading of centimeter, video poster person. Please don't look the fool.

@aleevue I couldn't quite catch what you tried to say... But, yeah, it did make me cry by the end of the first chapter. One must be truly heartless (or determined) in order to hold himself/herself from crying at those scenes.

Yes, there was a pain in my chest when I came to know that they couldn't be together.

@Azuka0305 well to me, the parts that we didn't see in the movie, such as the last part, adds to the atmosphere of the song, it filled me with both happiness and sadness. If only if it were the adults that finally saw each other rather than the kids...

Both of them should have ended up together instead of drifting apart.

@djoze5014 Well, he wouldn't know that it is a bad anime, without watching it... But still, that does not explain why he did search for this anime on KZbin, and watched this video =) I love the anime, too. And I get a huge smile on my face every time I hear this song on my list. Still, I would never criticise anyone for telling their thoughts about the movie. Haters going to hate, and they are also free to express themselves.

@Azuka0305 If the animation sux for you so why the hell you watched it? Save us your stupid comments and go to troll other videos. This anime is perfect and amazing, like its drawing and story, sad one but very real. So stfu! :<
