This is just a gear shaped object. actual gears are much more complex and generally use a involute profile
@LearnItDoItMakeIt7 күн бұрын
@@Charliened1 still a gear, just not a great one. Check out later videos where we use the spur gear tool. This was really early in my skill development. Ain't gonna hide the progress.
@Charliened17 күн бұрын
@@LearnItDoItMakeIt Fair enough, its just a little annoying as this video comes up when you search for a bevel gear tutorial for onshape, but its not an actual gear. Perhaps you should make that clear in the title.

@LearnItDoItMakeIt5 күн бұрын
Instead of selecting the joint glyph in the middle, select on the left edge. If you have a hard time selecting the correct face, hold down "ctrl" while selecting a face and it will lock into that face.

Hello William, the error with the slider going to far had to do with the fillets on the ends and the distances of the pin in the big wheel. The distance from the pin in the big wheel to the centre of the wheel had to be half the length of the slot. This distance centre of wheel 1/2 inch so distance from centre of pin to centre of first fillet had be 1/2 inch, Total length of slot needed to be twice the distance from the pin in the big wheel to the centre of the big wheel. That being 1 inch.
