I feel like a lot of people's nervous system is deregulated especially after covid and vaccines I'm noticing during certain sexual stimulation my hands and feet get cold and sometimes afterwards that same night I wake up 4 or 5 am with tachycardia but docs keep telling me I'm fine it's really weird and delt with anxiety on and of for years but never with these symptoms especially sex triggered

I was a phlebotomist for over 10 years at a hospital. I've had white patients ask for someone else, I've had black patients asked for someone else. I've had patients requested for me and only me to draw their labs. My skin tone was wrong, my accent was off, I was too enthusiastic. After awhile, I reminded myself, I'm healthy and able-bodied. I can't begin to imagine what's going on in the patient's mind. I politely wish them well, call the lab and tell my supervisor, tell the nurse of the patients, then continue on to the next patient's room. Life is too short, my mental health is too important to try and figure out every little thing. You're right, never take it personal.

The first time it happens it is natural to want to know why. After that I don't even want to know. I just move on.

Money dint buy happiness. Its not about the salary. It is about the daily pression and stress the job gives it is harmful for your patient. Co workers have constant disagreement between them, and management expect you to take it or leave it. They have an attitude of " This wont change" so you find yourself sooner or latter in the no way out with only one choice to change careers. With the idea in mind that women can multitask, conpanies apply that to nurses, they majority are women and they can multitask.

I think the work overload is too much. You have not time to be a real BEDSIDE nurse. You run around all your shift with ardly any break. The word bedside should not exist. Nurses school only give you one patient to take care and that is far from reality
@KeepItRealRN Жыл бұрын
That is because they want you to know that patient inside out and backwards. But yes, it is far from the real world.

Perhaps one stethoscope will come with AI, that can filter out sounds not related to the heart and give a clear sound of just the heart
@KeepItRealRN Жыл бұрын
I honestly think the stethoscope will become an ancient medical tool in the not too distant future. Pocket ultrasound is now sub $4k.

Man my experience with an agency sucked.... the staff was lying, holding up scheduling shifts, and trying to blame me for facilities failing to properly inform me of my duties when I arrived to the facilities the agency assigned. The staff was literally making up stories about me on some hater shit. I had to literally cuss ( verbally abuse) a woman from this agency out because she was lying so hard.... what a damn shame.

FOLLOW. thanks for the content. Its now 7 mo later, and I'm still feeling burnt out. This whole thing; I feel more dedicated to my team and my patients, but I just don't feel I really make much of a difference anymore. This job man... over the years, I've managed to compartmentalize the drama and b.s., do the best I can, and feel very good about the work I do. But lately I just feel Iike a failure... pretty much every shift. Who knows how much is covid related. I know I can't stop because it's all I know but, if I threw my back out tomorrow, I'd light a candle on Sunday and thank the Lord for saving me.... that's maybe too dramatic... nevermind... maybe I'm just bummed out; maybe I need a vacation. Regardless, I'll keep soldiering on, hoping for better days. Again, thanks for the content! I really enjoy it!

I had to laugh about being quizzed. I do not mind being quizzed but asking "who the patient dated in middle school and what did the date rate his/her's first kiss"well it can get dramatic. :P

My last years goal was to find work in ICU, which I happily completed. This year, I’m also trying to compete some overspill. Hone in on my french language, read 25 books in 2021, learn rock climbing (tips rope climbing). This last one was for last year but the pandemic cancelled the gyms
@KeepItRealRN3 жыл бұрын
25 books. Wow. For me that would be a lofty undertaking. Congrats on the ICU gig. Hopefully sometime this year the rock climbing thing will be a thing again.

1. Pass CCRN 2. Apply for CRNA School 3. Get back into physical shape
@KeepItRealRN3 жыл бұрын
Those sound like 3 doable goals. For the CCRN I recommend practice questions. Do 50 a day for as long as you have to until you are getting 70% consistently. Then you will nail it. Practice questions are harder than the real deal. Study into your weakness. Don't waste time on your strengths.

I’m going back to school to do my pre reqs for Nursing, Currently a CNA of 9 years. It took me until now working in a hospital that I’ve decided I want to take the next step in the medical field.
@KeepItRealRN3 жыл бұрын
You got this. I was a CNA before going to nursing school. I worked with a PCA who went to community college for 2 year RN, earned BSN while working and receiving tuition assistance. Applied and got into CRNA school. Graduated and has been killing it as a CRNA for a few years now.

I really need to take my CEN exam. Been putting that off for years. Same with the fitness too. Going to the gym hasn’t been a huge problem but I have not been eating good at all. Need to change that. Also, I’m still waiting on your video on what you carry to work and in your scrubs while you are working 🧐🧐 would love to see a video on that. 😀
@KeepItRealRN3 жыл бұрын
Half the battle is good nutrition. I found that if I eat crappy, all the exercise in the world does not result in fat loss. The CEN is doable. You still have 11 months. Go for it.
