Clyde once told me that to be a fiddle player, you had to wear overalls and chew "baccer". I made it halfway by wearing overalls lol. I miss going to learn tunes from him.

I think ‘Jolly’s retreat’ should be ‘Zolly’s’, right? Not that it makes any odds. Fella retreated, didn’t he? Very much like ‘Black Snake’, incidentally. Never heard that one before.

I don’t play fiddle so much nowadays, but Clyde was always a big inspiration. Thank you very much for uploading these - they’re a wonderful resource.
