Hey how are you going? I was born in Nhulunbuy in the 70's. My parents were proper bushies and we travelled all over Arnhem Land when I was a kid. Malcolm Douglas apparantly came to my christening haha. I live in the UK now so pretty different hey. The road you guys travelled on used to be 2 wheel ruts through the bush in the 70's with proper river crossings that were quite dodgey (salties etc). Sometimes, depending on season, it could take 6-7 days winching through the mud to get along that road - you guys did it in just a day and a half? Anyays, it was lovely to watch your video and hope you're doing well! PS. We lived in one of these houses on Wallaby Beach maps.app.goo.gl/X4FZpMLkT9spNr256

Hi David! Greg operates at the mine and I (Monika) work in a marketing/comms role. It's pretty easy to get work here! Lots of people arrive and end up staying on and working for a few months. It's a great community and there is always lots happening. I'm sure you'll love it!

hello from Mazarron Spain, brings back happy memories for me, I worked on the original construction site ( D;J;M ) For Nabalco, 1970, it was a little bit different back then, but what an experience, best of luck with your venture,

Nice vid. Things have definitely changed since I was there between 83-87. Back then the drive in/out was 3-4 days and only by high clearance 4WD for 3 months of the year. Your only other options were fly or the barge to Darwin (freight only). Back then the TV content was 3 days behind too - tapes sent from Darwin. It was a freaking awesome place then, hope it still is. Expensive though.

We are always worried about crocodiles as you should be! But it’s a calculated risk at anytime entering the water in the Northern Territory

Mate you are the spitting image of a Very Well Known Sprintcar Driver in Australia name Locky McHugh who races off season in America and comes back to Australia to race the season here. Look him up. Same looking face expressions and almost the same personality of a laid back cool cat that's not bothered by a camera. 😀😀😀👌👍

This is what we like to hear! Definitely a must 😊 be sure to book your camping etc months in advance as it does book out quite early! We also would recommend visiting late August / September to avoid the peak period. Thanks for your support!

Awesome Vid Guys and lovely place out there, I towed my 5m up from Noosa QLD to Nhulunbuy in April this year the road was Ok but last 200ks was wet as they had 360mm of rain two days before i got there. I stayed with my mate Nathan hes lived there for years, so it was a great couple weeks he took and showed some cracking spots and we caught some lovely fish.

Thanks so much Craig! It’s a pretty special place. And the locals here make it even better. It’s definitely somewhere we’d return to many times over if we only visited once for a holiday! Appreciate your support 😊

is there a safe area where you can go swimming?
@outnaboutadventures Жыл бұрын
Litchfield National Park is great for swimming! Also Berry Springs (only in the dry season). As for close to Darwin, we’d say the safest is the local town pool 😂
@bruisernight41978 ай бұрын
It much depends on how fast you can swim generally.
@peterfagan50008 ай бұрын
Waterfront lagoon and the wave pool. Heaps of public pools, some of the most picturesque on the cliffs above the ocean at Nightcliff. Lake Alexander is easy access from town. Also lots of swimming holes that are croc free and patrolled. Some of the beaches in the Northern Suburbs are patrolled, but of late there have been big crocs around.. also box jellyfish keep you out of the water in the wet.
