Owning the OG Blacktron ( black and yellow) all sets - to me that was the classic and best. By the time 1991 rolled around and I was 17 - I remember walking by the section of LEGO (During my dark, black out period) and remember saying to myself - what a watered down simplified , half attempt of creating LEGO space with this “ new style” Blacktron. I thought it looked cheap then ( less build quality , less structure and pieces , less bulk , and weird color combos with the silly B ) and watching this video now - some 33 years later - I feel the exact same way. In the LEGO vault is where those sets should remain. ( Good video tho ‘ cheers ( liked the music selection too).

I got every single 1999 set. I completed the collection when I got the Mos Espa podrace set for Christmas in 2000. I was 6 when Lego Star Wars launched. Technically, the Snowspeeder was my first set, but some pieces were missing and it had to be taken back. Ultimately, the speeder bike set was my first set. My favorite was the Tie Fighter and Y-wing set. I didn't do well as far as maintaining them, but I got the 2004 re-release for Christmas 20 yrs ago and took much better care of that.

I love your review and ranking of sets from one of my favorite LEGO themes! If you get your hands on the Multi Core Magnetizer again, you should check out the 'satisfying' flip of the small storage crate onto the rover buggy if you drive it up to the standing crate with the magnet end of the rover toward the crate as the controls imply. The crate magnet jumps onto the rover magnet and flips over the top to rest in storage on the rover, almost infallibly! It is very satisfying. This was demonstrated in one of the old commercials.

@@keltondavisLEGO 6989 is one of my top favorite LEGO sets. Not to compare or anything, as I've been collecting nostalgic sets for over 20 years (I'm probably around your age) even before the significant market value increase over the last 10 years, but I just found a decent deal on a 4th copy of the Multi Core Magnetizer through a European BrickLink seller and also have all of the critical/rare/expensive parts to complete my 5th copy (parted out) sometime in the near future. I collect for myself, but also like to get multiple copies to eventually gift to my young family members to share the nostalgia. Most of my nephews' gifts right now are custom remakes or my own custom sets from my favorite themes using mostly readily-available pieces today. I hope to keep up this trend, but will also share copies of the original sets when they are old enough.

Hi, nice. For power you could look at LMB Power functions connectors which I have linked to 4Brix power supply’s. This way I can power on/off all the lights simultaneously….or you could tell your AI assistant to do it for you. My own village is on 7x5 white base plates (official) :-). I also retro built each model (from 2013) on MILS base to give the models stability when handling and packing away each year, this also hides the lighting connectors/excess cabling. I have been toying with building a mountain side basically to get more space as it’s all pretty congested now, but never seem to get around to it. Enjoyed your video. Have fun building and a great festive season.
@keltondavisLEGO2 күн бұрын
Thank you! Since making this video, I have plugged all my lights into a USB splitter and now they can all be turned on simultaneously with AC power. I definitely want to MILS the village next year!

I had Legoredo as a kid. Such an amazing set, especially for a kid that loved Lego. It's really sad that they've stopped making Western sets, my Legoredo is most likely lost in multiple bins. I'd love for the theme to return or atleast a rebricked version of Legoredo, like they did Fort Eldorado!

Can you imagine how much money LEGO could make if they would reprint classic theme sets like this

The only issue they'd run into would be old colors and molds. Perhaps refreshed versions like the recent El Dorado remake would be a good compromise.

The Covered Wagon has a super secret compartment on the back. This set is brilliant, I had 3 of these as a kid and would make a caravan out of them! I'm not sure if the hidden compartment is intended (it seems like it!), it could be just dead space left by how the model is built, but still I've always appreciated these (there's also one in the roof of the 6074: Black Falcon's Fortress set for example, where I'd hide all my LEGO chrome gold coins).

@keltondavisLEGO I have said this a few times, I would love a classic theme. Lets say x amount of small, medium and one large. Have the themes change, so one of the small and one medium are space while the rest are something different. Would love if the large also had a small that wasn't gwp. There are a lot of great themes, but like you said do we need a whoel theme? Like I would love a new Aquazone ship, don't need five. Just putting it out there, time will tell.
