Was this the 4 wheel steering designed into the lunar rovers for the later moon landings. I wonder if not similar. The astronauts could select 4 wheel steering, front wheel steering and rear wheel steering. They did not like the 4 wheel option on the moon and I think they went simple front wheel. Insider that even that the engineers gave them the options, and for however much more weight and design expense, they got like three or four to the moon

As shown in my 130 year old Mechanical Engineers Handbook. Yes, this and so many others have been around for so very very long and we may think we are so smart and inventive. Yes. As down n the lower screen it dies trace as a circle between those two center points of the sliders as they go back and forth. Of that center point and further out of extended with a beam it rod the ends will trace an ellipse, thus the correct identification as an ellipse machine although one does not see it in this video. Now double your track and run a couple of sliders on the back side driven by the same circular motion with one set of opposite side sliders connected through the base and the other opposites free to slide in opposition given a similar tip connector, and you have something remarkable even to consider as the ellipses have different offsetting foci that balanced out their motion. Just cool. I was once looking at other applications but it never panned out.

Curious. I would like to have seen a constant angular velocity apples to your drive system. As it was it ran on spurts Difficult to machine sure. Friction. I simply this in my mind to consider just two circles, the big one and the small one with a diameter the radius of the larger. Then asking myself the points or patterns the smaller one would make on the larger rolling them so to speak at constant edge linear velocity but of course different angular velocities. Somehow I just don’t see the pattern tracing straight lines edge through the center. Curious as well, seems that Euclid would have done this with his insane geometry problems. Oh well. It’s easy enough to cut some circles and put it together.

ive seen first two on lots of water filterin pumps or ariculture poison machines pumps... while last 2 seems like used on medical fluid transfer devices commonly.. ive seen the one on center left on some air compressors but i cant remember correctly and one on chinessse drill water pump mechanism which was made of plastic and werent that effective and lasting much :D

Oh my. What terrible dynamic firces on the cylinder wall. Additionally, simply imagine the top and side positions and this device cannot seal not ways with a non circular ellipse. Sure, you can even see it lifting and re sealing the gap. What you have here my friend is a garbage disposal.
