Am I high, or is that crowd really, really small for such an iconic band?

This is the song that triggered the Warner Bros lawsuit, the album was called Leatherette. Warner grabbed the masters, so Frank went on an FM radio station and told everyone to cue up their cassette decks, then played a copy from the mix, and told everyone that they could record it, make copies, as he was giving it away. It had the voice of SNL. Don Pardo, telling the story of Punky. A friend of mine had a copy, and I heard it. That friend later made a copy for Terry Bozzio who had never heard it. Angel was also on WB, and they were notorious for catching up and coming bands and ripping them off. When Van Halen was coming up, Michael Anthony, kept getting in front of Edward at a show, and EVH was getting annoyed. Michael told EVH to turn his back to the crowd, as Angel had just entered.

This is why I don’t go to Journey concerts. It’s a giant fu$king sing-along. I’m not paying good money to hear a stadium sing the verse, let alone off key. I was just at a Sammy Hagar concert and thankfully there was little sing-along there. This is how Arnel has been able to go 15+ years…let the fans sing half the show.

@@BigMouthBarry This must have taken place after a baseball game... I have seen Arnel with Journey twice now, and he delivered both times! Just because the game is over... it doesn't mean the getting the crowd into it is over.. Let them sing! Most likely free for most of them... He needs his voice for another day...😉 Nice job!

The first time I saw Elvis Costello and the Attractions was in 1978 at UCSB's Robertson Gym. Mink DeVille opened up, then Nick Lowe was suppose to be the second act, but the bus that he was on broke down in Oxnard, so he couldn't be there to preform. The second time I saw E. C. and the A's was at the Arlington Theater, but for some reason E. C. became really pissed and he and the A's walked off the stage. They only played for about 30 or 40 minutes. The third and last time I saw E. C. and the A's was about 1982 at the Santa Barbara County Bowl. The English Beat opened up, then it was E. C. and the A's, then The Clash. That was a fantastic concert. In this concert footage looks like the original drummer of the A's. Just much older of course. We all get there as time goes on if we live that long. I am 68, not too sure if I make it to 69 next year.

Wow, what a great "find" on this random Friday morning! I saw the Kingston Trio in Philadelphia in 1976 as part of a Bicentennial concert. (Mary Travers sang,. too; she persuaded one of the Fairmount Park mounted police to let her ride one of their horses!) And to this day, my daughter plays their "Last Month of the Year" album when decorating for Christmas. Thank you!
