Sinbad! This one is another kick in the old memory gonads. I used to play this one a lot at our bowling center when I was a kid. I could camp out on it for a fairly long time. I don’t think my mind set as a kid back then was anything about reading the instructions, I must admit. I was more of a learner of strategy by playing and experiencing the game as it happened. Later in life I realized pinball is like sex. 😂 One of those I wish I knew then what I know now type of things. Oh well… still played for an hour or so with just a couple quarters once I did figure out what I needed to shoot at. Take care brother, thanks for the great video and flashback!

Why do you remove isolate transformers ? Doesn't it protect you and electronics from mains and what about different mains voltage in different countries ?
@markjackson144411 сағат бұрын
Great old Gottlieb. …I think you were a bit generous in your scores…I’d only give this playfield a 5 max, and the backglass maybe a 6…. This machine is a good contender for a restoration - a new playfield and backglass, and a cab repaint would bring it back to being a high end game. It’s a lot of work, but worth it for the right collector.

Gottlieb actually released a standard 3 ball updated rom for this game too, one of the few games they did code revisions for! I guess back in the day there was a bunch of backlash on the time units.

Fun and informative video! It's neat to know that directional targets can get lit by hitting a skill shot dropdown target or hitting the side ramp as it feels like some targets might be tricky to go for directly (like the one near the yellow Cellar Door).. ;u; Also congrats on getting the Mega Door Bonus (as well as your lil ski pass prior to it)!

It's the only double scissor flipper game ever made. I saw one of these on Craigslist and was absolutely dumbfounded when I realized it has double scissor flippers. I guess Gottlieb felt they needed to out scissor Bally. Everyone back then really felt that scissor flippers were the new hotness. To me, it just proves that there are some real sadists in the pinball design business.

Sinbad only other one I can think of offhand with double scissor game maybe it’s a Gottlieb thing 😂

I first saw double scissors on rotordave’s homebrew motorhead. I didn’t think much of it until somebody said, ‘i guess there is no cradling’. Then you realize the speed implication.

I don't mean to rain on anyone's parade, but I would get bored playing pinball games that are as old as my parents. I need pinball from the 80s/90s back when I was a kid. By the way, the rest of the room looks great. I remember seeing some game rooms look like that, but with more modern games.
@LeebosPinball11 күн бұрын
Booo… (haha) Yeah, I generally like playing late 80’s/early 90’s sys 11 thru WPC95 games but these wood rails are so cool to me. I feel like each generation has its merits for different reasons, even thru all solid state games. But to see a collection of Wayne Neyens wood rails like this is so cool.
