I never grew up with Weather scan, I came across this during my vaporwave phase when it was the hot new thing, but this video has stuck around with me forever ever since. Thanks for keeping it up and uploading it!

Man! I used to listen to this music a lot when I was 5 years old!!!

I got 4.6 inches of snow on Friday night.

I don't know the name of the song at 27:00 but it was surreal hearing it again in uploads of clips from TWC Local on the 8s in January 1998 Each song brings me back to a simpler time. I really miss Weatherscan.....😢

It pains me that no entity is making cool little background songs/jingles for their products, programs, etc anymore. Corporate minimalism (ie in logos, advertising and such) is a plague, and we should've stopped it at Facebook and Google before it made everything soulless

My father used to have the weather channel on everyday while I was growing up. He passed away almost a decade ago and hearing these old songs gives me chills. Didn't realize how much they had impacted me.

I had some heavy snow showers late Wednesday evening that gave me 0.1 inch of snow. Then at 9 AM EST yesterday, I had a wicked snow squall that gave me an additional 0.3 inch of snow. I had whiteout conditions for several minutes. My snow total for the season so far is 0.4 inch.

the fact that The Weather Channeled havent changed their Local on the 8s since 2013 is kinda sad. I hate this boom clap indie pop music version they have today. It's time for them to change it again and make it actually good and bring back the soft jazz and ambient music.

I had flooding in my area that time from heavy rain and snowmelt. I had over 3 inches of rain and 40-50 mph wind gusts from Finn. Schools in my area closed early on 1/9/24 and had delays on 1/10/24 due to flooding. I was on Winter break at the time and therefore, the closings/delays did not apply to me.
