The nerfs didn't kil the spec by the time everyone gets fully geared their damage will be higher than it was pre nerfs. Then there's the fact that Affliction is usually weaker at the start of the expansion, but it scales really good as haste and mastery get higher.

Do you think aff will still be competitive with the other s tier specs in the game currently at the highest level ? Clearly blizzard isnt that interested in turning aff back into a rot spec or they wouldnt have simultaneously nerfed corruption with SB damage and i think the way aff plays currently is extremely fun in terms of style. A combination of solid dot damage and good burst gives it the feeling of being a serious kill threat than just a damage pad. What are you thoughts on how it will stand post tuning compared fury/frost mage/unholy dk/ marks hunter ?

spec is not dead lmao shadow bolt just wont oneshot people and people will go back to 3x ua - dotting spec not some 1.3million haunt into 2x instant shadow bolt that hits 1mil+ each like thats not how affli should be afflis shadow bolt should never hit 2 & 3x amount of chaos bolt dmg this is just dumb

@@bualock To be honest though, its the most fun the spec has been for a long time haha, Damage aside, the rotation is really fun, the playstyle, even with the nerfs ill be sticking with it!

@bualock well it will be a bit more since they nerf the baseline damage of shadowbolt by 15 and another 10 or 15 on nightfall procc. Also shadowbox doesn't hit harder than chaosbolt since I'm wooping 1.6mill CBS back to back during infernal

In a vacuum yes I would agree but then you also have fury warriors (who got a slap on the wrist in terms of nerfs), frost mages who were completely ignored, unholy dks who were also ignored, and Marksman hunters. Why not tune all of the s tier specs at the same time? I definitely think SB needed to be tuned down a bit and when I initially read the notes, 15% seemed close but then they tacked on another 10% from the SH talent and I'm only a little concerned that might be a bit overkill given the state of the meta right now.

@@Unobserved07 yeah melee prolly gonna shit down our throats now. SB hitting hard helped get those defensive cool downs and hopefully land a win. Now I feel like I'm not gonna get enough pressure. My teammates blow and do zero dmg, so it's up to me every fuggin round.

Affli would be strong in a caster meta but not in a melee heavy meta with DK and war being the two best melees. Same problem as before, lots of casting, very easy to disrupt and unfun, chose destro for those reasons

@@Bennn__nnnhow? Conflagrate and shadowburn are their only instant casts. Conflagrate does no damage and has a cooldown, and shadowburn does so-so damage, but uses shards and has a cooldown. Sooo how you gonna win games with barely any damage?
