My current main player is a 91 warwick 5 string dolphin pro fretless and really love everything about it but this bass u demonstrated in this video is just above and beyond gorgeous visually and has superb tone.love the idea on the wiring and when it comes to Aguilar preamps u cant go wrong... If this beaut is still available whats the ticket on it?

You've made a great instrument, I'd buy it if I'd not just got my son a fretless for his 21st birthday, like your ideas around pick up placements, and the wood looked amazing. Congratulations, I hope it finds a good home for you.

I've been seeing your progress on Brandyn's 6 string fretless and I have to say you create some beautiful works of art. It almost looks like the one in this video.

It's a beauty! When I was thinking about which top I wanted for my bass I was deciding between Claro walnut and Ziricote. Both of these woods are so stunning, they're really something else. Hope someone buys it soon and has lots of fun with it! 6 string is just too big for my hands :)

Gorgeous instrument! Out of curiosity, have you checked out the Lusithand filter based preamp? I put one in my Ibanez single cut and the range of sounds from it is insane.

No I haven’t. Is there anything different about those than your typical 3 band preamp?

Have you tried the Darkglass preamp? I really like the modified eq curves it has.
@AlexWeberBass2 күн бұрын
Yes I have. That was actually the first preamp I put in my main 6 string fretless. Great and very similar to the Aguilar preamp I have in this but there’s something about the OBP-3 I liked more
@RyoCanCan2 күн бұрын
@AlexWeberBass Nice. I bet the buffer on the Aguilar has a bit more power going through beefing up the signal.
@AlexWeberBass2 күн бұрын
@@RyoCanCanPossibly. There was something a liiiiittle more mid range pronounced in a hi fi way with the Aguilar but it was real subtle
@Jermthemusician4 күн бұрын
Do you perfer to have your 6 strings tuned BEADGC or F#BEADG? It sounds like your low end is a B
@AlexWeberBass3 күн бұрын
Yea it’s definitely a low B. I prefer the high C string because low F#s can get real muddy and most of the time it’s not needed.

Hey man, i got the same bass last month. Im really liking it. Its a true hybrid, although its a bit gimmicky. I dont see the point in the rod stand. It feels silly to me, and i never use it. The scale length makes the right hand position weird when you play it upright. I really like it horizontal though, and i think i have found a good way to hold i standing when gigging. I dont want to sit down. I put a strap button on the back of the heel of the neck, and made a small dowel with steap button to put in the rod stand. With an extended strap, i guide the tail end over the body of the bass, like Jon Gomm does with his guitars, and then i have a great playing position for standing.
