I love this, but do you know if this violates copyright?
@stefan257694 жыл бұрын
Who cares about copyright? Would you pay 20$ for some small cube?
@chuweyayekin81084 жыл бұрын
No copyright violations as long as you don't try to sell it. Merge cube actually has a printable paper version of their cube for free on their website.

My students want to create a restaurant to show it using Merge cube. Do you suggest the app "dig" or "tinkercad"? Another question is how can you import the restaurant to the merge cube?

This is brilliant. I want to try making this too, I can't see well & a giant merge cube would be so awesome and easier to see things.

Thanks for watching! Let me know when you finish making your GIANT Merge Cube! If you want any suggestions of great apps to use with it or more tips and tricks, check out my website: www.gabehaydu.com

Am I correct that the only limiting factor of size is how big the size of the copies are? For example if I wanted to double the size of your cube I would make each size two A4's? I realize I would have to split each side when copying? Great video I can see many educational aspects. Also in theory is there any way to project movies even if just in 2D???
@GabeHaydu6 жыл бұрын
Hi Stephen. Thanks for watching! You are correct, indeed. The only limit is the size of the copies made. At my school, we've got an industrial sized banner printer, so I've been considering making a massive, MASSIVE cube. ...But, that'd be a big undertaking. Haha! I'm picturing some really cool suspended art installation in the courtyard. Anyway, I'm excited to see your SUPER GIANT Merge Cube when it's finished! Let me know how it goes! As far as projecting movies, I don't know of any way to do it with full length features, but there are a couple apps that project 2D video files in augmented reality that I like to use. Check out Roar (costs money, but really cool tech), and HP Reveal (Free, but can be difficult to learn). Let me know if you want any more info! -Gabe

What are the dimensions of Merge Cube? Merci Beaucoup ;)
@GabeHaydu6 жыл бұрын
Hello! The original version of the Merge Cube is 7cm x 7cm x 7cm (printable template for papercraft found here: ww.gabehaydu.com). The Giant Merge Cube that I made was approximately 40cm x 40cm x 40cm. Are you going to make one!? Let me know how it goes or if you need any help or ideas. I'd love to know! :)

I've been away from anything new from Merge Cube so this is awesome. My only complaint is that all the apps use only one of the cameras instead of the front facing one. Don't suppose that has changed.
@GabeHaydu6 жыл бұрын
I haven’t seen that feature yet. I can’t picture what I would use that for, though. Other than super cool selfies! :D What are some of the things you would want to do with the front facing camera if it was an option? Thanks for the comment!

After multi cube becomes a viable option, just ease

I LOVE this and plan to make one for my library this summer. Did you use a color or black and white copier? Does it matter? Wondering if the silver is important for tablets and phones to read the cube.
@GabeHaydu6 жыл бұрын
Liz Ralston thanks! :) :) :) I used a black and white copier. The silver doesn't matter when trying to pickup the image. I wondered the same thing at first. Thanks for watching, and let me know when you end up making one!!!

What size paper and box did you work with in this video?
@GabeHaydu6 жыл бұрын
Michael Fricano II I used A4 sized paper, but really you could use any size. I cut the cardboard to fit the size of the photocopies I made. Thanks for watching! Let me know if you have any other questions or if you end up making one! :)
