I did this for 6yrs and trust me it's a hard life being a guard at Buckingham Palace but it is very rewarding. Imagine you go to work every day and your constantly being shouted at by your bosses. But the goal of the tourist is to get a reaction out of you,so it can be filmed. I stood on guard for 2 days once with serious toothache and it was brutally hard having all these people act silly around you.

it's inhumane to use human beings as tourist attractions to be gawked at. im tired of people blaming the tourists for doing what tourists do with what's advertised with the purpose of being a tourist attraction. the moral failure is on whoever created and enforces the queen's guard's system. the right thing to do would be to either make the queens guard no longer look so silly and update to the times so they aren't gawked at so much and are no longer a tourist attraction or 2. make it illegal for people to take pictures and gawk at the queens guard with strict law enforced against it.
