The Amber Alert system may have been decades in the planning. I believe it is mostly a money-grab from the beginning. Look at all the Amber Alert signs on interstate highways. Someone made money off that and it's rarely used for Amber. Also, Amber Alerts are prioritized for domestic abductions; mostly no danger to child except a court order is broken. I've read it's difficult for a legitimate abduction (where the child is taken by a stranger) to appear as an Amber Alert.

This isn't the Mandela effect in any form. I watched this episode as kid that Was before 1996, and he always said Amber Alert. Secondly it doesn't fit the criteria of a marvels effect because Barney's made up Amber Alert to impress the sergeant is that they'll be one watch all night for Ernest T. and the actual Amber Alert is for lost kids. If it was an actual parallel reality they would both have had the same meaning, the 96 one being written over the 1960s tv show one.

You are reading a modern meaning into the "amber alert" term. The term "Amber alert" today means there has been a kidnapping. The term was used before, but not in that way. You see, a "Red Alert" to you means a very high state of alertness. High danger. "Amber" is another word for "Yellow". And law enforcement used to use the term "Amber Alert" for a heightened state of alertness, but not the highest level. Kind of the "Green-Amber-Red" sequence of colors for traffic signals means "go- slow- stop". The yellow has been called "amber" for about 100 years. You are making more of this than is warranted. There is no such thing as movies, pictures, and printed pages of the past being changed magically as they sit on the shelf. That's ridiculous. A Mandela Effect is actually only a faulty memory that the person is unable to recognize as faulty.
@KyGun7 жыл бұрын
I am not making anything no more or less than it appears , You are. Instead of giving me your rude opinion, why not show me proof of any circumstance whether it be military or civilian where anyone anywhere in the world used the term or phrase "Amber Alert" for any reason what so ever before 1996. When you find that proof of its use I will take down this video. BTW? do you see the question mark at the end of my video description? This implies I am asking viewers a question. I didn't say that I think its a Mandela Effect, you did. I asked if the viewers might think it is. Everyone else commenting seems to get that but you. Pay attention to other comments as well. We have already covered your argument and I have done research on the term. It doesn't exist anywhere. It isn't even considered Amber on any alert system anywhere, not in the 50's or 60's or as of to date. "Inspired by the success of the forest fire color system, the scale consists of five color-coded threat levels, which were intended to reflect the probability of a terrorist attack and its potential gravity". Severe (red): severe risk High (orange): high risk Elevated (yellow): significant risk Guarded (blue): general risk Low (green): low risk Nobody ever called it "AMBER" Amber alert was created in 1996, END OF STORY. Mandela effect or not, this is fact. I'm asking you to be the judge, not the executioner. I dont give a shit what it is. If its your opinion this this it not a Mandela effect ,....Good. But dont accuse me of saying something I did not say. I do however think it is a strange coincidence and it deserved to be pointed out.

Barney: "We'll stay on a number 2 amber alert." MP: "What's that?" Barney: "One of us awake at all times." One may want to consider the context in which they are using it and the time period in which they were in. Rather than defining the whole term, break it down further. *Amber* is a color commonly used in color coding systems in various venues, however the meaning are generally similar. As examples: In Traffic engineering: Amber is used in traffic lights and is one of several technically defined colors used in automotive signal lamps. In Business management" Amber is used in business management to indicate a status of work being in "waiting" for a progess update.. In these instances the basic meaning is : "Be aware of a change in status suddenly/imminently." Sort of like a "holding pattern." If we re-read the dialog using this context in mind... it makes sense since his answer to what it is, is: "One of us awake at all times." or in a round about way, one of them being aware and on the look out at all times. It's a common generational thing as well, however, I can see why it may raise a red flag. Please don't get me wrong, I have my own ME experiences, some similar to others and some completely different. For my own observations I try to research and detect if there are any reasonable explanations for each one that pops up and keep a record of my findings.
@KyGun8 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your reply, I have taken all of the above into consideration. He specifically says "Amber Alert" which is what directed me to upload the video. I was on the fence leaning toward coincidence until I researched further into that specific term. I couldn't find that term in their time or present day. Not until 1996. So it just struck me as very odd or coincidental. If not a ME then it is one very strange and odd coincidence. If there is one slither of doubt then it usually doesn't get any of my attention. This almost didn't get any of my attention but after watching it over and over and doing some research I wasn't completely convinced it was a ME but still can't push it aside. In this case Barney is waiting on Ernest T Bass to attack but there is no reference to this phrase "Amber Alert" on the internet or a set of encyclopedias I have. I couldn't even find the color amber used as a form of any alert from their time or present day. It could also be the shows writers using Barneys character and his silly way of doing things. Coincidence? Maybe..... Other than our well known Amber Alert - America's Missing: Broadcast Emergency Response, If you google Amber Alert I have found nothing pre 1996. If you can find something I have overlooked that would be great. Thanks for your insight. Your insight gives a lot to think about. Again thanks.

@KyGun8 жыл бұрын
I have searched and searched and other have done the same. There is no such mention of a Amber Alert anywhere , not online or in the encyclopedias that I own. I know he is referring the the color "Amber" There are 4 criteria for an Amber alert and one of them has to be met before they Issue one. He says a number 2 Amber alert, this leaves one to believe there are other category's of the amber alert that Barney is mentioning. There is no history that I could find of any such alerts until 1996. If this is a coincidence and not a Mandela affect I am even more impressed. One of the strangest coincidences that I have ever heard of by far.
@SummumBonum.8 жыл бұрын
KyBigGuns it is a joke. There was no such thing as an amber alert at the time. Amber, as in between red and yellow. That is why it was funny. Today's Amber alerts are named after a person not a color. Once again, to clarify, they are totally unrelated.
@KyGun5 жыл бұрын
@@SummumBonum. I know all of what you are saying. But why did he say "A number 2" Amber alert. I know he means color not a girls name. My problem with the whole thing is the No.2 part. Since the establishment of the amber alert in 1996 there are 4 criteria in which a person can issue a amber alert. You can believe it was just a coincidence all you like but in film or written history only Barney ever used this term, of course it was used again in 1996. No mention of it anywhere pre 96 except Barney. You're saying Barney just made it up. Okay, So what if he did. Still doesn't change the fact he used a term that didn't actually exist until 1996. And the fact we actually have a No. 2 Amber alert. And the No. 2 is a scary one. Mighty magical coincidence don't you think? AMBER alert criteria for activation. 1. Law enforcement must confirm that an abduction has taken place. 2. The child must be at risk of serious injury or death. 3. There must be sufficient descriptive information of child, captor, or captor's vehicle to issue an alert. 4. The child must be a minor (under 18 years of age).

@@KyGun thanks for responding after two years. This could be one of the longest conversations I've ever had. Obviously the people who decided on creating the Amber Alert had seen this episode of the Andy Griffith show. And that subconsciously led them to choosing this particular child as the basis for the name "Amber Alert" right down to the levels -- which they also based subconsciously on the show.
