About to begin my first Fairy House and have a quick question. Re: the door--when it say "position 'door' piece as shown and stitch around pattern piece" how far outside the pattern piece should I cut? There aren't any other line other then the stitching line. Thank you for contacting us. Julie's Fairy House is a great design and very popular. In the text she said to leave a 1/4" seam allowance. So cut about 1/4" out from the stitching. Thank you again for asking . hi so I wanted to ask about your doll fabric... I recently bought the 'pale peach-light skin de witte engel doll skin jersey' from a different website and I was wondering if I should use dark nude lycra or light nude lycra for the face? Pls answer soon! I want to get the materials ordered before school starts!

Thank you for your question. The light nude is the closest but does not match the DWE Pale Skin fabric perfectly. The Lycra does not have the pink tinge. It is more of a cream/ecru color. We also currently only have light nude in stock. Hope this helps.

@@dollmakersjourney3292 thx for answering! Do you know anyone who sells a doll jersey that would match the light nude? I see that your finished dolls match exactly! Do you also use DWE pale skin for al the dolls that are light skinned?

@@angelartamesia2 The doll in the video may of been a cotton doll. The Doll Jersey in itself has a lot of stretch and should work the same way.

So I just got a sewing machine and I can stitch straight lines but I'm really having trouble with curved lines... and considering I have cerebral palsy, it's not very easy to maneuver the fabric where I want while stitching so it stitches the right place, help!... do you stitch doll parts with a sewing machine? If not, how do you stitch the fabric by hand so that the seams are really really tight??

Amazing! i will do the basting next time, I don't have the blunt edged tweezers for turning the fabric inside out though... ( can't buy one because I already bought a lot of fabric and doll materials...) what do I do? I don't want to stretch the fabric while turning it inside out...

Using a tube or stick or even a pencil you can push the fabric through until you can grab it with your fingers. The Hemostats do make it much easier. So I was looking through the nylon/ lycra section of your website and I noticed that light nude was very light, kinda white... Is the nylon/ lycra fabric piece in the video above the light nude or dark nude?

Thank you for asking. It is Dark Nude. We currently don't have it in stock. The last batch of Lycra we received was damaged. We are currently looking for a new source.

@@dollmakersjourney3292 I actually also have another question. So, I've been watching this channel that uses... I think stiff skin-toned doll fabric, maybe cotton and I can't be sure of the actual color and the way the fabric moves so could you take a look at the linked video below? It looks like cotton jersey and they said they used cotton jersey for a different doll ( Russian doll ) body... so if I can't find the stiff ( cotton?) doll fabric then really good quality doll jersey fabric could produce the same looking doll body? Do you have the stiff ( cotton?) doll fabric? Is the fabric woven in the video?? It matters what type of doll you are making. If you are working from a pattern you should go with the recommended fabric. If you are making your own doll you could go to our website and look for a similar doll pattern and click on the supply list and see what fabric they recommend.
